The Stooges "Fun House" for sure. The Rhino Handmade box is incredible. If you haven't tried the Stooges first 2 LPs you're missing something! The first 3 Hendrix LPs and Band of Gypsys also.

These are only important to me:

Deep Purple: In Rock, Machine head and Made in Japan.
    Van Halen (the first)
    Led Zeppelin II
The beatles White album, only Helter Skelter..
ACDC Let there be rock, If you want blood you've got it
Rush moving Pictures (is this hard rock?)
Jimi hendrix, cornerstones (it made me appreciate jimi)
    Ted Nugent - Ted Nugent
Rainbow - On stage, Difficult to cure, Rising

Together with some Saxon, Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Michael schenker group, Gillan, Santana, UFO these records and groups completed my dedicated hard rock period.

Before this I listened to the Beatles, CCR, Elvis and the Police.

After this I had a Dedicated Funk/Soul period until I realized that you can listen to any good music.

good selections folks... but I'm surprised nobody have mentioned Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. Both groups are one of the most important Heavy Metal groups in the 80's
