What are the most important Heavy Metal (incl. Hard Rock) records in the music history? I would like to compare your postings with my list... maybe I can add some titles! Thx... Claus
Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, Nazareth, Ozzy, Metallica, Triumph, Rush.......Oh yeah! Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin.....
The Stooges "Fun House" for sure. The Rhino Handmade box is incredible. If you haven't tried the Stooges first 2 LPs you're missing something! The first 3 Hendrix LPs and Band of Gypsys also.
Bear in mind that i'm no expert in metal or hard rock but I know what I like. So having said that, some of my choices would include: any Jimi Hendrix Led Zepplin Led Zepplin II Santana-Abraxas Deep Purple-Live In Japan Boston Van Halen Alice Cooper-Bilion Dollar Babies Def Leppard-Pyromania Van Halen-5150 Kiss-Destroyer Fishbone-Truth And Soul

ACDC Let there be rock, If you want blood you've got it Rush moving Pictures (is this hard rock?) Jimi hendrix, cornerstones (it made me appreciate jimi) Ted Nugent - Ted Nugent Rainbow - On stage, Difficult to cure, Rising Together with some Saxon, Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Michael schenker group, Gillan, Santana, UFO these records and groups completed my dedicated hard rock period. Before this I listened to the Beatles, CCR, Elvis and the Police. After this I had a Dedicated Funk/Soul period until I realized that you can listen to any good music.
Here's some that haven't been mentioned: Faith No More - The Real Thing Montrose - Montrose Tool - Aenima Judas Priest - Hell Bent For Leather Meat Puppets - II Love/Hate - Blackout In The Red Room Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral Rainbow - Long Live Rock and Roll Clutch - The Elephant Riders Scorpions - Lovedrive Stone Temple Pilots - Core Swans - Children Of God UFO - Force It
good selections folks... but I'm surprised nobody have mentioned Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. Both groups are one of the most important Heavy Metal groups in the 80's
forgot to mention Metallica Black Album, Guns and Roses , Appetite For Destruction, Who's Next, Aqualung, Emerson Lake and Palmer
To me there is a difference between Hard Rock and Metal, I would never consider Hendrix Metal however to play this game.
