My green-label "WB" LP (RE-1 in end wax) has no tambourine.
Side 2 (the other side) has no RE on it, leading me to believe that they messed with the Into the Mystic side.

I have a UK original, dead wax info...

    side 1 K46040 WS 1835 A-1
    side 2 K46040 WS 1835 B-1

The tamborine is on the right channel, it is crystal clear and you can hear all the nuances of it, loud then gentle, then loud.

I have a US copy dead wax info

    side 1 WS1835 39621 RE-1
    side 2 WS1835 139622

No tamborine on the right channel

I have the UK Superdisk and its clip which started this has the Fog Horn/Right Channel

My WB Green label -1A / -1A also has the foghorn/tambourine in the right channel

In my needledrop of the Green WB it appears I ahd my cables reversed which caused the tamourine to come out on the left channel, that was my error since i was messing with everything on my new TT

I hate to complicate my life, but that's a strong possibility.

Foghorn center, tambourine on the right just after it.

So I guess the RE-1 doesn't really have anything to do with the mix being changed on this song then?

    Hi Steve,

US WLP= Has tambourine prominently and foghorn up in the mix!
    UK LP= Same
    German LP= Same
Norway LP= Tambourine prominently, foghorn sounds recessed a little. Wonderful midrange and highs. Good bass too. US WLP similar except for foghorn!
US cream color label= No noticeable tambourine or foghorn. Thin sounding and lacking breath of life.
US CD= same as cream color label LP only even more tinny sonics.

Sounds like the guy who mastered the WG target CD (and US), along with the later US lp pressings was sent the wrong tape?

Same here, except matrix number on mine ends with 1B rather than 1C. Tambourine comes in on the right after the foghorn.

Mine has tambourine in the right. I think it's the original US vinyl. I don't have the CD to compare it to so I don't know if the foghorn could be considered "up" or not.
I really wish this mix would turn up on CD. My vinyl is not in very good condition.

I have original gold label LP. It's same as above. Canadian CD has foghorn towards the right and no tambourine.

I would say yes. Mine has similar stampers as Keith and I have the version with the tambourine as well.

  17. I have a "W7" Warner Brothers Seven Arts green label - (note - THIS is the TRUE first pressing - NOT the "WB" green label). Side 1 deadwax code is WS-1835 39621-1.

No tambourine anywhere in the mix at any time.

BTW - this song is true Godhead and maybe my favorite song by anybody ever. As an earlier poster said, the song I want played at my wake.

It's one of my favorite songs, but in the non-tambourine mix. All I have is the tambourine version...

How rare is the "W-7" pressing? What do they usually go for?

  20. I don't know what the price guides say, but I will tell you it sounds noticeably better than ANY other pressing I've heard, and I think I've heard them all. Presence and clarity like you've never heard before on these tracks.

Could you possibly put up a sample of "Into the Mystic" from this W7 copy, the section I linked to before from other's samples?

Like I said earlier, my W7 HAS the Tambourine.
    Matrix: 39621 WS1835A RE1-1C

Note the number under WS 1835 in BOTH W7 labels.
    (S39621RE1)
Obviously then both versions were available as W7.

My original Warner Bros. WLP has a tambourine in right channel as well.

    More presence and clarity coming?

Randy, do you see "(S39621RE1)" under WS 1835 in the label?

Yes (on side 1 only and also in deadwax), but it is not a W7.
