Help needed: Tip for boxes for shipping 100 12" records

    Hi,
    I need to ship about 100-300 records using Fedex - can anyone give me some leads on the safest boxes that can accommodate that many records without the possibility of damage?

    Back in the vinyl days, I worked in a Warner/Elektra/Atlantic warehouse. Everything was shipped into and out of the warehouse in plain single-walled cardboard boxes, via commercial freight carriers or UPS. Occasionally a box would get a corner crushed or dented, but there was almost never any damage to the albums.

    When a friend sent me her LP collection a few years ago (probably 150 albums), she bought the right size boxes at the UPS Store, packed them tightly, and sent them off. They arrived in perfect shape. I think that would be the best, and least expensive, way for you to go rather than buying special purpose LP shipping supplies.
