Agreed, my 2nd favorite PS song behind "Wouldn't It Be Nice". The arrangement of the whole song (That's Not Me") has a special kind of mid-late summer vibe that I've always loved hearing
I have been bingeing lately on a couple of Beach Boys podcasts. One is "Sail On", which I have mentioned before. The other is a rival podcast called "The Beach Boys Boys". The second of these is run by a couple of guys who talk a lot of irrelevant nonsense and seem mainly intent on using as many swear words as possible - but they do eventually get around to talking about the beach Boys and their albums and it's an amusing alternative listen. If you are ever thinking of doing your own podcast, it's worth listening to these two podcasts back to back to hear how to run a podcast, and how not to.
The exclamation mark in an album title is an automatic turn-off for me, two of them even more so. I make an exception for Sandinista!.
Did any other artists/ bands/ groups mention The Beach Boys .. There’s the Beatles least Paul McCartney.. then there’s The Carpenters “ we love the b’s’.. Bacharach, Beatles , Beach Boys “ Anybody else ?
Heaps. The Beach Boys seem to get cited as "early influence" by every second band, though many of those bands don't sound to me much like the Beach Boys.
