What is worse---fake stereo or a fold-down of real stereo?

Kinda similar to the Russian release:

    1. Hey Jude
    2. Revolution
    3. Lady Madonna
    4. The Inner Light
    5. Day Tripper
    6. We Can Work It Out

    1. Paperback Writer
    2. Rain
    3. Get Back
    4. Don't Let Me Down
    5. Old Brown Shoe
    6. The Ballad Of John And Yoko

I must admit, I enjoy this track ordering.

The Inner Light made it onto both the US and UK versions of "Rarities"

In a sense, Hey Jude/Beatles Again was the first US Greatest Hits album, spanning 1964-1969.

Always liked this album. They should have included "Inner Light" on it though.

Sorry I can't find the original thread, but I believe our esteemed host noted at one point that the UK (export?) version is the way to go, as it used lower generation tapes. Don't remember any more details, I'm afraid; I'm lucky if I can remember where I left my car...

Or even worse yet, the version of "Only a Northern Song" on the mono Yellow Sub LP -- a folddown of the fake stereo mix.

Why don't you contact Perry Cox.

This lineup begins to get close to the Let It Be LP, and I was thinking the other day...what if in an alternate universe there had been no consensus on Let It Be/Get Back, no Spector, no energy for it at all...and Hey Jude had included the above songs plus Two of Us, the Long and Winding Road and two others. Interesting set.

Put your track listing up in your order so I can burn it.

Thanks Tommyboy for the advice! I contacted Perry Cox through E-bay, nice guy for responding to me.

Here is what he said below...

    Dear quicksilverbuddie,

Thanks. I appreciate the support over the years.
You have a nice factory error there. Some collectors really like those. Too many possibilities to list each one in the books, but they can still bring 2 to 3 times the value of standard issues.
    Enjoy!

At first I went with a standard approach -- Hey Jude/Revolution beginning Side 1 (Lady Madonna/The Inner Light out of order) followed by successive A/B sides of singles for the most part and on to the Let It Be tracks. However, I ended up deciding to mix it up. At first I was leaning toward I've Got a Feeling, but I went with For You Blue to give George a bigger piece of the pie. The former would join 909 etc. as lost Beatle tracks.

    Side 1
    1. Get Back
    2. The Ballad of John and Yoko
    3. For You Blue
    4. Across the Universe
    5. The Inner Light
    6. Lady Madonna
    7. Don't Let Me Down

    Side 2

    8. Revolution
    9. Old Brown Shoe
    10. Let It Be
    11. Two of Us
    12. The Long and Winding Road
    13. I Me Mine
    14. Hey Jude

Thanks! Hey Jude is a good way to end it.

It's hard to imagine a world where "I've Got A Feeling" is a lost track. It would be the most sought-after track in history.
