I've been wondering about this, especially since the new announcement by Audio Fidelity of the new titles coming out in 2009.
Alice Cooper School's Out; perfect! It could only be better if Killer and LITD was remastered by them as well.
But The Cars? Not slagging the band or anything, but they're not exactly one of those bands with classic albums that deserve the MFSL, Audio Fidelity, or any other hi end remastering.
    So, what determines the releases?

I use a OUJI board myself!

Actually, money, projections of sales , and artist/label consent.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing about Alice Cooper and The Band.

Rule number 1. I would say what is available and what can be licensed that's there's a demand for, what would sell at least reasonably well and can be licensed without sending the company into the poor house.
