Thanks. I bought an 18-inch square board the other day, but, foolishly, I bought pine (one of the more resonant woods), as it was over twice as thick as the only other alternative, MDF.

The inner tube I'm using is 14 inch and fits under the turntable without touching its legs. However, doing that, it needs to be inflated quite a lot, to clear the leg length, so I put it on the board and have the inner tube as minimally inflated as I can while still able to raise and cushion the board. When I tap on the cabinet or floor, the sounds breaks through, but a bit less than when the turntable was sitting directly on the cabinet. So far, my result is not greatly impressive and I'm wondering what to try next.

Be sure to inflate enough for clearance of the valve.

Interesting - I find not much sound from the support gets through. I suppose it will depend on the weight of the turntable too.

My turntable is 8.5 kgs (nearly 19 lbs) + the 1.7 kg board, so 10.2 kgs (22 lbs).
