Do you have to listen to them sing along in a Jersey accent?

    that was enough

pretty good movie and entertaining, the live aid scene was excellent

but for me, too much time spent on the relationship with Freddie and Mary and they took such ridiculous liberties with the actual Queen timeline -

one has to wonder if they made up most of that freddie and mary stuff too

Off the top of my head they've done them for Frozen, the new Mary Poppins (and the old one), both Mama Mia films, decades worth of Rocky Horror of course, Mulan, Grease, Dirty Dancing, Moulin Rouge, Sound Of Music, Chicago, Les Mis, there are special screenings of Muppet Christmas Carol every year etc etc

Fox did them for GS in the US as well...

Once, and barely made it through. Objectively bad movie. Like a filmed wikipedia entry.

Too bad, as it's likely to be the only Freddie/Queen movie we'll get.

I may not be in the loop at all. I'm not a Queen fan. What is the deal with this Queen "resurgence?"

I suspect, because they're one of the most globally loved groups of all time, and there's been a movie made about them.

Thanks for the really informative post.
I mean what caused them to make a movie about them? Is there some sort of anniversary or something?

Which is unfortunate, because all those other recent films that have come out about true life events have been almost documentary like in there recreation of past events.

Personally, it felt like "The Lord Of The Rings... of Queen" ... too long!
One song representing Live Aid would have been enough and if that's how the film were to end, then use the real footage.
I dread to think the bonus feature on the release is a complete Live Aid performance from the cast. Why this is of any interest is beyond me.
Sadly enough, I actually prefer Oliver Stone's "The Doors" and that speaks volumes about BR.

No special occasion. When they first decided - at least eight years ago- to make this film, I think that the main motivation was to get a piece of the biopic boom. And conmercially at least, they succeeded.

Zero. I have a real loathing for modern Multiplex Cinemas. I'll wait til it comes out on DVD.
