How to find and buy rare speakers

Hi,

I'm looking for a very specific set of speakers (Brand doesn't matter) that are quite rare (there were very few pairs actually made). To be clear they are not either super expensive or collectible in any way, they are actually reasonably priced, however I haven't seen them sold online for years (none listed on hifishark for example). I have contacted dealers that used to carry them but with no luck as well. Apart from following hifishark is there anything else I can do to be able to find a pair?

I would start by telling us what you are looking for.

 

As I said they are out of production speakers (for very specific reasons I will not share the Brand). Very few pairs were produced 10 years ago. I'm interested in any ideas of where to look.

 

I would suggest that you open the door to the building you live in and in the loudest voice possible scream "Can anyone help me find some very specific yet unnamed speakers?" That's essentially what you've done here...........

 

As I clearly said from the beginning I'm not asking for information about the specific speakers (which btw most people wouldn't have heard off anyhow), but where to look/how to go about it. Hopefully it's easy to understand the difference.

 

I understand the difference. You'll get much better responses here if you'll just name the brand of speakers. It's possible that someone on this forum has heard of (or owned) the speakers you are seeking..........

 

@Giacomo Belbo Showtaper is exactly right and plus if a SH Forums member has a pair they're not using and would consider parting with you're just screwing yourself out of getting them.

 

Is it WTB then on the marketplace forum that you guys are suggesting? Apart from that forum any other suggestions?

 

That's one way or perhaps just list the name here in this thread for now or both here and a WTB thread to cover the bases.
