Frank McCloud "I apologize for Mr. Temple. He doesn't know what he's talking about. Rocco was more than a king. He was an emperor. Whom he couldn't corrupt, he terrified or murdered. His rule extended over beer, slot machines, the numbers racket and other forbidden enterprises. He was a master of the fix. Whom he couldn't corrupt, he terrified or murdered."

James Temple "You filth! You city filth!"

McCloud "Mr. Temple, you're hopelessly old-fashioned. Your ideas date back years to the time when America thought it could get along without the Johnny Roccos. Welcome back. It was all a mistake. America's sorry for what it did to you."

Toots "On the level, boss, were you that big?"

Curly "On the level, are you that dumb?"

Johnny Rocco "Yeah, that's me. Sure, I was all of those things. And more! When Rocco talked, everybody listened! What Rocco said, went! Nobody was as big as Rocco!"

Thanks for sending tips like this! Is there an easy way to search TCM's website for something like "all Bogart movies playing in the next month"? Their website doesn't seem very intuitive.

Probably somehow.. but I go thru the entire week ahead, because every once in a blue moon
they pull out an older, rarer film. Plus I'm a general film nerd w/ a specialty in all things Noir.
I use the search box often on my cable's vid box.. it shows all the channels that way. TCM remains the best overall.. though I admit I have not completely delved into every possibility.

There is still after 60+ years... a handful of HB films that I have never seen.
I think a couple could be had, and I understand there are a couple VERY obscure shorts, etc.
But for now.. I am blessed and hyped up for this rare TCM showing my friend. I have seen
''Big City Blues'' one time prior in the early 70's, so long back that it will be like a new experience!

Comcast / Xfinity sucks. They have pulled TCM and placed it in a sports package that costs extra. Will be dumping Comcast / Xfinity. Any suggestions on a TV service?

They are also going to be pulling all of the Starz channels and moving them to a premium tier at extra cost next month (from what I can tell, this will not affect the former Encore channels rebranded as Starz Encore, but I'm not 100% sure of that).

I'm pretty peeved at the TCM move as it was one of my most frequently watched channels, but for my own situation I'm not sure there's a better alternative to Comcast/Xfinity, so I'm debating whether to grit my teeth and pony up the additional ten bucks a month it will cost to get TCM back. What's really insulting is that with my current package, I'm already getting the majority of the channels contained in the "Sports Entertainment" package they moved TCM to - I think I determined that only 4-5 of them would be actual new additions.

I’m looking at Google TV and just keeping going the internet with Comcast. I never watch TV unless it’s TCM, Golf Channel, or a Gamecocks game. Wife likes Bravo. I’d say 99.9% of my media consumption is YouTube, BritBox, Roku or some other video service. Plus I have loads of DVDs I can watch.

Couldn’t edit, but I meant YouTube TV, not Google. Damn Comcast. I miss seeing the classics and Bogart on TCM.

I own a copy of this book having seen the movie around the time it was released and, being just a wee lad, it was probably my earliest exposure to Mr. Bogart. To some degree, this film introduced Humphrey Bogart to yet another new generation and even helped set the stage for his posthumous role as a larger-than-life icon of male coolness.
