Today Sunday is the last day of the sale.

30% off used CD/DVD. 20% off new and used Blu-ray, new CDs, new DVDs, new vinyl.

I havan't had luck at the FYE at Concord Mall in Wilmington.
The CD sections are full of junk that resembles the CD area at Goodwill, nothing good unless you want old out of date dance and tweenie pop discs, I guess the kids there don't buy anything that's out of their relm. No jazz, no pop, no rock before 1990. I did have luck with the DVDs finding 2 out of print Disney Treasures sets, Mickey Mouse in color, and the complete Donald Vol. 2.

One of my pawn shops ends up getting a better selection of used CDs, than my now lamented FYE, ever got in used.

Does anyone know if this is a chain-wide sale? My local store is only advertising the "Buy one used cd/dvd, get the second at 50% off" deal.

It was heavily promoted here. My local FYE had signs up everywhere 20%-50%. They even had them outside down the median near the store.

I guess they knew I traded in a bunch of stuff a couple of weeks ago so decided to offer a better deal for the rest of you.

Is FYE still selling Rhino box sets cheap? I might go get a couple later if they are.

This thread inspired me to hit the local FYE (Port Chester, NY) on my lunch break. I had two good finds:

    James Taylor - Hourglass - SACD - $4.99
    Alison Krauss + Union Station - Live - SACD - $17.99

A better selection of used stuff seems to turn up at Newbury Comics than FYE for some reason.

I'm not a FYE fan. 19.99 for a new cd is ridicules.

I have been finding some great cds at great prices lately!

  17. I just bought The Dark Side of the Moon,
[Harvest CDP 7-46001 2 CP35-3017 31A9, made in Japan, no TO in matrix],
for $9.99 at the FYE mentioned in post #1!
    Great find!

Funny...I used to gripe about FYE...prices, selection, and such.

Now, there are no stores within an almost three hour drive, and I miss them.

I found a new Lester Young 10 cd box set for $15 at the local FYE recently. Also picked many used cds though nothing too rare there also.

This chain seems to be withering and dying in Phoenix. At one time, there were eight stores, and now they are down to three. Two of the remaining three are almost worthless for used CDs and never update their stock. The section that is supposed to contain the most recently acquired used CDs has had the same CDs for over six months at one store. I have also noticed the same misfiled CDs in the same spot at this store.

Boston Downtown crossing store is closing and everything is 20% off. Which in FYE terms brings them close to MSRP. Took a quick walk through there today. Nothing to speak off. Will not miss this chain.

I could only see the outside of the cases but they all looked clean,, minimal wear and the DCC for the most part had the sleeves.

I wish I had more money I'd have bought more,, i settled on a NM DCC Cream Wheels of fire for $32 and DCC Elton John Greatest Hits for $32
