    Hey guys!
    I found this recorder on Reverb. It's a TASCAM MS-16 1" 16 track reel-to-reel. This particular unit was made by TASCAM to run at 30 IPS. It turns out the Chicago alternative rock band Wilco used it at their revered Loft studio to record sections of their famous album "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot." It belonged to Wilco's former keyboardist Leroy Bach from what I understand. It is now coming to reside in my home studio here in Auburn, Alabama. I'm very excited to get this unit and start making some records on it!
    Thanks!
    Ryan

    Quite a find. Helped record a brilliant album at a pivotal point in the band's history.

    congratulations, @Twelvepitch !
    :edthumbs:

    production as a creative pursuit is limited only by our own imagination;
    because of the vast possibilities to fulfill our artistic desire, it is an infinite canvas for ideas and creativity borne of each one's spiritual identity and uniqueness.

    when one has at-the-ready all of the tools needed in order to take that spiritual seed and grow it to full fruition, one has found their “island in the sun” ─ their very own refuge from the chaos and absurdity of the world.

    Long may you run:tiphat:

    Yankee Hotel Foxtrot was like Wilco's Sgt. Pepper. A new outlook and a whole different sound. That album has to be in my top ten favorite albums ever.
    Thanks!

    Ryan, you scored. Hope the Tascam is in top condition, and the heads are in solid condition with lots of head life remaining. Enjoy the new machine. Love the provenance on your Tascam.

    I really want a MCI 1/2 track Stereo machine in console, as that for me fits my use case. If I had more room, I'd also want a nice MCI 1" 8 track machine and a nice Neve, Spectra-Sonics, Flickinger, or Auditronics console (the latter was built in Memphis).
