The year 3500 – assuming Earth and mankind is still alive and well by then, although it seems unlikely. I'd love to hear the kind of music that's around then.

I got into music aged ten in 1964. What a great time to start. And I haven’t stopped since.

I can't think of anything more exciting than the 20th century for all kinds of music. I'd choose my birth year as 1937 in NYC so I'd be old enough to get into the clubs by '58.

Any time in which I would have been old enough to see Jimi Hendrix live.

I wish I could have been older in the 1960s (particularly 1963=1966) to better appreciate the music.

I was born in 1995, but I think I was born 50 years too late! I can only dream of experiencing the live music of the 60’s and 70’s!! I’m jealous of those of you that did!

I think I have experienced the perfect time. I was old enough to remember the young Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis. Remember the British Invasion and Beatlemania as a 10 year old. Sgt Peppers directed me to Zappa and that was a life changing experience. Got to see the rise of the Stones, the Kinks, The Who, Cream, JHE. To me rock was best 50’s thru late 70’s.

Gald I was born when I was.

I saw Hendrix at Woodstock. That being said, I would caution anyone against wishing to be older than they are.

Or if the future is denied, late 60's early 70's, to see all those prog bands live at their peak :)

Hamburg 1962. But probably only as a time traveler, since I wouldn’t want to be a woman during that time in general.

80s for pop music on the radio (Talking Heads, Talk Talk), 90s for electronic ambient every which way (Namlook, Biosphere, Tetsu Inoue, Woob, FSOL, Instinct Ambient), new millennium (with all its hells) for digital access to it all.

i had the good fortune to witness as a child the best of folk and jazz in NYC where i was born. my pop's cousin owned the village vanguard and he was working dylan from early '61.

then we moved to la in '65 and i again was witness and participant in some of the best LA stuff in rock and the wonderful and legendary amalgam that became "la music" in its pop/rock/country heyday along with the virtual and concomitant collision of "art and commerce".

it has been said that if you remember the 60's you were not "there". that just is not so.

i would however have liked to have been one of the first on a harpsichord. way back when.
