Definitely 1988/89. Because by then everybody was so hellbent for CDs that you could pick up excellent vinyl collections for very little money. :righton:

1956, Los Angeles, for a copy of "Tell Me You're Mine" by The Velveteers. It's an absolutely beautiful doo-wop ballad of which the master tape doesn't appear to have survived, and even a VG- copy of the 45 will cost hundreds on eBay.

When I was a teenager in the early 70's lots of records ,which are really rare today -like Vertigo swirl and Krautrock- were sold in the bargain bins - if I had bought them back then I'd probably be a rich man now

Several copies of the 2 Patto albums that I sold for silly money a couple of years back on ebay. I dunno, about 1971?

If I went back in time to buy the albums when they were new, I'd have to pay full-price for them. The only reason I can afford to have an album collection like the one I would have liked to have had then is that a lot of the records are cheaper now. Are there rare records that are more expensive now, or even not available now? Yeah. But I can live with that.

Maybe the R.E.M. New Adventures in Hi Fi from 1996, or Up from 1998, wouldn't mind revisiting those years again, would be the perfect excuse.

  13. I would buy every Beatles butcher cover I could find. Not because I like it or because it isn't totally sick and disgusting but because I would like to be disgustingly wealthy.

I would go back to the late 1970s or early 1980s and hit the thrift stores for space-age bachelor pad albums.

Bunch of 78 Blues, and let them trickle out.

I'd also stop and find the first numbered 1000 Beatles White and sell them as sequintialed numbered lots.

What I would rather do is take my awesome Roio gear and record various groups. How awesome would it be to have a high quality Robert Johnson performance?

The idea of staying for 10 years in history, with the ability to choose to eventually return to modern times is a cool concept.
New York in the mid 50's would have been a great time to grab jazz records, and then stay through the late 60s,
and jump back to 2031, and hopefully we don't find out no replacement cartridges survived the second term of Steve Bannon's presidency.

Or go back to 1997 and buy $10,000 worth of Amazon stock, that would be worth $13 million
