I'm to old for that now and even then I use the mill for some other undisclosed activities.

I have that too. I rip to WAV and play stuff in my car. BSS (any version) consistently sounds low in volume and thin. Which sucks because the vinyl does sound great (I still have my copy from the 70's) and it's my favorite album.

As you see it, will there be any re-issue market left in the future for the major record companies?
I mean, hasn’t it all been set and done? Now everyone can have all the music they want 24h a day, by streaming.

I'm sure he did say that. Let's ask Clapton which story is correct. ;)

Dunno. Audiophiles and collectors want the music but they want to collect it, hold it in their hand, etc. Might come back, one never knows..

Steve have you ever heard any speakers from Jim Salk, Salk Sound?
If so what did you think?

So, I'm embarrassed to ask this, but, back a bunch of pages to a switch to take two LA-2As from mono to stereo. The wiring looks simple enough. What kind of switch can I use? Will a simple on/off light switch do the trick? I think it's just making a connection vs no connection, but, I know nothing about switches (or much about wiring, but, it looks pretty easy).

Let’s hope it comes back. Question for you Steve. Was The Doors first album you did for DCC from the original master tape? Reason I’m asking is the AP version is from a safety copy. I compared it to an early cd of the first album and couldn’t really hear any improvement.

So, here’s a pic of my LA-2a duo. See the toggle in front? Simple as that.

Toggle-great nickname of a very interesting character in the Doonesbury comic. Iraq war vet with both a war disability and a gift as a recording engineer. Husband of Alex,Mike Doonesbury's genius daughter, and father of three.

So just follow the wiring diagram, should work.

Remember, only for ganged stereo. Disengage during everything else (duh.)

Have fun. You can use your LA/2a pair as a stereo preamp. Just turn the "peak reduction" switches all the way down to 0. It's how Ken Perry did it for years. You want compression, turn the knobs up. You just want a beautiful, creamy stereo tube preamp, turn the knobs down.

I think he mentioned in the SACD Doors Best of that he worked on that he wasn't into it.

With all the equipment he gets to listen to I can't imagine not being at least slightly interested in it...

And, if you don't mind, the same question about Wayne Shorter's Speak No evil: It is impossible for me to get the Music Matters pressings where I live, do you recommend any other in any format? Thanks in advance!!
