    I have similar episodes.
I recently found out how little I knew about Art Pepper, and now (for the last month) I cannot get enough!
A few months back I went down the John Lee Hooker rabbit hole.
Before that, I rediscovered that I have a boatload of Gillian Welch / Dave Rawling stuff (legit and boots) that I immersed in.
There was Gerry Mulligan last winter... Paul Desmond, Mingus, Coryell, Howard Roberts.

I dunno, I like these excursions I take due to 'burn out', it makes it okay to go back to 'mainstream' for a while again, until...

How the heck can anyone else answer this question for you? If you're still interested in music, get on Spotify or another streaming platform and just search around until you find some new artists you like. There's more ways to discover new music these days than at any other time in the history of the world. Or just put music aside and read books or learn to paint or something.

Music doesn't get old for me. I'm in a different mood, different set of circumstances than the last time I heard it, so it's never really the same experience twice.

I'm a 24 year old boomer and I'm kinda starting to feel the same way. I've been listening to Spotify's pop playlists and blindly buying CDs from contemporary pop artists. I do love finding new old music still, but what's left of that is shrinking.

What's left of old music to discover shrinks every time you discover a single piece of old music, that's undeniably true. But there's 140 years worth of recorded music out there, and thousands of years of composed music that's been transcribed or passed down in some form. I promise you, neither you nor anyone else is going to live long enough to come close to hearing even a small fraction of all the old music that is out there.

Exactly. It's not as if it's difficult to figure out how to proceed if the initial post of the thread is serious.

Check out all of the new artists on Bandcamp. You can stream there, or buy physical product directly from the musicians.

Bandcamp has a ton of new, non-mainstream material to enjoy.

Try reading, hill walking, watching wonderful films, talking to friends. So many amazing things to do in this world, no need to be anxious about what you no longer enjoy.

Check out podcasts of a subject you like, maybe of current music & artists, or a totally different subject altogether...there’s a gazillion of them available now. Either that or maybe songs with more cowbell?! :p

Yeah, but if you are stuck in a car with only traditional terrestrial radio, talk radio is more interesting than what passes for classic rock stations these days...even if you find yourself screaming back at the host.

Get out to see some live music, ideally in a festival. That way you’ll see loads of stuff you’ve never heard of. Some of it will stick.
