Brian Jones was kicked out of the Stones because he was a drugged out mess, and uninterested in being in a band any longer. He was on his own trip musically. And as mentioned, he couldn’t tour in the U.S.

Zeppelin was perfect as is, so the pairing wouldn’t make sense even if he had it together.

Page could have then sunk into heroin addiction sooner, so there is that.

    Eeee gads, no.
I wish Brian had lived and continued to delve into other exotic musics like he did with The Pipes of Pan at Joujouka.

It's ridiculous. Brian's thing after 1965 with the Stones was inventing interesting licks to the Jagger/Richards tunes, like Paint It Black, Ruby Tuesday, Lady Jane, etc. Jimmy Page wouldn't need a second guitar player anyway. Such a crazy idea, as much as I love Brian Jones.

Strange what-if but I'm gonna say no because he had ceased to function in the band he founded. Why would he have been motivated to do more in someone else's band?

That was the point, Gramps. :D

The notion of adding Brian Jones as a 6th Beach Boy is only slightly less ludicrous than Jones joining Zeppelin.

I wish Brian Jones had formed a band with Syd Barrett, Kevin Ayers and Robert Wyatt in June 1969. He could have played saxophone, marimba, dulcimer or sitar to his heart’s content, or ripped it up on guitar if he felt like it.

I don’t think Jimmy Page would have welcomed the chaos.

The best group for Brian Jones to join would have been...Alcoholics Anonymous, probably.
