Increasing Technics SL1200 motor torque

RE SL1200 Mk 2 turntables (New)

Can any one indicate the necessary electronic changes to increase the std SL1200 motor start up torque - I believe the torque can be raised to about 2.1kg/cm. I am an engineer and have the SL1200 schematics, but not a lot of time available to 'experiment' with the design.

The turntables in use are SL1200 Mk2, but I beleive the motor is the same throughout the SL1200 range.

Does anyone know any downside to making this modification - eg shortening motor life etc..?
