Yeah. Look at the price. There's a wealthy sucker out there somewhere who will buy it.

Nobody becomes wealthy being a sucker.

 

Anyone care to do the math on this? Kinda seems like it might actually be worth the price.

 

Maybe, maybe not, but a lot of wealthy people are irresponsible with their money, particularly those with inherited or "new" money. Fact. In other words, a lot of wealthy people don't stay wealthy. A lot of young or newly wealthy people don't know how to manage money and are irresponsible.

That person has been trying to sell that collection for a while now. Crazy price, I'd highly doubt it will sell at that price.

 

If someone's willing to pay $70k for a complete Zappa collection, they can take the conversion van and pick it up.

Couldn't a record shop owner buy and then sell slowly over a year or two for a profit?

 

There are far more less rich folks on this forum looking for ways to blow their money on over-priced "audiophile" editions of records they already own for a perceived minuscule improvement in sound quality.

Or perhaps an entrepreneur who worked hard to built a business, became successful thereby has the money to spend on a Zappa collection if he/she chooses.

 

Yeah, it's not like he's blowing his retirement money on it.

Yes, I agree. The collection as advertised is overpriced (IMO). I have most of those listed and a few more besides in my collection but no one in their right mind is going to give me $69,000 for it.

 

Plus, there's the subject of 'condition' on each and every one of these albums....
