Curious folks' thoughts on the drying mechanism. I currently use a Spin-Clean and had thought about adding a vacuum machine to the process. I would have preferred this system to have had a vacuum drying system. I'm slightly concerned that fans blowing onto a recently wet record will tend to add residue back. I do not have the money that I know some folks spend on even bigger fancier systems, but this seems like an interesting option for those of us with less to spend. Anybody else concerned about the drying system?

The velvet pads on the vacuum extractors I think would add just as much, if not more, gunk back as would fans.

Yep. It’s probably a matter of when then if. Anyone on the fence should consider grabbing the early bird pricing and save $60. Availability at that price will probably be gone in the next 2-3 days I estimate.

I see that they don't recommend using any type of cleaning solution with their unit.
Is this normal with most US RCM?

I know this won't be as good as the Degritter, but the price looks fantastic in comparison, and I am very tempted.

    Thanks for any help.

On second thought, I joined the early bird anyway. Fingers crossed all will go fine.

Yes you would do best in using some wetting agent for example. The degritter has one downside which is that the frequency is so high making the bubbles so small. It gets into the groove easier, but is weaker at removing contamination, theoretically anyway.

So either will work, therefore both would appear to be a legitimate way to clean records per the Degriter people.

Time makes all tech cheaper. At $349 this is a game changer. I spent more to create 3 x LP DIY US cleaner. However, my opinion (based upon my experience) is that US cleaning should be one step of the process. I use a Spin Clean to remove loose dirt, and begin to break down embedded dirt. Then rinse. Then a US bath at .33 rpm for 15min (5 total revolutions). Then rinse. Then Vac Dry. I keep the US machine in another room when cleaning. I set it up for 15 min then close the door.

With this new design, can one remove the LP after cleaning, then rinse, then reinsert for drying ?

I note that a pump is not included. Seems that the most important issue in draining is how to create a leakproof seal that is easily removed for draining. Is there any way to create a manual drain plug that can be opened after a cleaning cycle ?

RE: MagLev Saga. I did not read the thread. Am I correct in understanding that they completed they project, but then went bankrupt ? The assets, including designs, manufacturing, inventory etc, were purchased by a new entity that came to market with a finished product. KS investors provided R/D funding, then were "kicked" to the curb in bankruptcy. Please correct me if wrong.

I had been thinking about getting into the ultrasonic game and buying all the necessary pieces, plus a vacuum drying setup. However, at this all in one price I couldn't resist and jumped in. Hopefully it's good.

There are 9 early bird spots left before the price goes up. If you're on the fence, now is the time to get off of it.

I'm sure once it is released, we'll see lots of comparisons to the Degritter.
