If this thread is wrapped, then I just want to say thanks to everyone who contributed- and a big thanks to Mark for starting it and running it. INXS is a longtime favorite and always will be.
I guess we can wrap it up.... There is only really 2011's the Very Best... I did fail to look at I'm Only Looking. We can look at those on Monday and wrap up I guess.
Really enjoyed this Mark. Great, calm thread. Enjoyed everyone’s input. If anyone is ever in my area, send a PM and we can chat about the band over a pint. My treat!
There were two more INXS singles. 2011 Tiny Summer and 2012 We are united. https://youtu.be/QoI-IKaB8ms

The Official Very Best has three tracks from Listen Like Thieves (which is interesting in itself) Original Sin from The Swing and Just Keep Walking from the debut (and I'm very glad to see that there).... For me it isn't until we get to the bonus cd that comes in the deluxe edition that we start getting the variety I would need to be interested (not that I'm really a compilation buyer) .... I just find it very interesting that the first three albums are pretty much shunned.... We only get Just Keep Walking off the debut. We only get Stay Young off Underneath The Colours, and that is only on the bonus disc. We only get Don't Change, The One Thing and To Look At You from Shabooh Shoobah, and again, they are all only on the bonus disc.... The Swing Doesn't fair that much better with three songs, one on the main disc and two on the bonus disc. Listen Like Thieves is the first album to get a pretty solid representation, with five tracks. Three on the main disc and two on the bonus disc. When we get to Kick it gets eight tracks. Five on the main disc and three on the bonus disc X gets a five track representation. Four on the main and one on the bonus Welcome to Wherever You Are gets four, all on the main disc. Full Moon Dirty Hearts gets two, with one on each disc. Elegantly Wasted just gets one track on there The oddities are Shining Star from Live Baby Live Good Times from the Lost Boys soundtrack A mash up of Need You Tonight (Inxs vs Gwen Stefani) and then there are 4 live tracks 2 from Kick, one from Listen Like Thieves and one from X.... I think this shows pretty clearly that there are only three albums in the Inxs catalog that either the band or record company think are any good .... and to me that is completely bizarre. I can understand a Greatest Hits having this kind of breakdown, but not a best of.... To me a best of doesn't even need to be all singles. As a Best Of it is very feasible for the album to have a band's favourite album tracks, and isn't stuck merely with the singles. Putting together a Greatest Hits album Suicide Blonde - their most successful single chart-wise Need You Tonight - second Devil Inside - third Never Tear Us Apart - probably fourth Good Times - probably fifth Then number ones Original Sin - In Aus New Sensation - In Canada Disappear - In Canada Elegantly Wasted - In Canada Next most popular What You Need Disappear Mystify Pretty Vegas (if that counts, being a tv advertised song, and a different singer) The One Thing I Send A Message It gets a little tricky after that, but they seems to be the best performers based on chart positions ... and that is a little rough, and based on wiki chart positions. A best of though is a terribly subjective thing.... Just merely as an exercise.... this might be my Best Of Inxs.... perhaps more of an anthology disc 1 Just Keep Walking - 2:43 In Vain - 4:26 Stay Young - 3:25 Underneath The Colours - 3:59 Fair Weather Ahead - 4:21 The One Thing - 3:24 Black And White - 3:40 To Look at You - 3:55 Don't Change - 4:24 The Swing - 3:52 Johnson's Aeroplane - 3:53 Burn For You - 4:59 What You Need - 3:35 Kiss The Dirt - 3:56 Listen Like Thieves - 3:46 disc 2 Need You Tonight - 3:01 Mystify - 3:17 Never Tear Us Apart - 3:05 Disappear - 4:10 The Stairs - 4:56 Suicide Blonde - 3:53 Heaven Sent - 3:18 Baby Don't Cry - 4:57 Beautiful Girl - 3:33 The Gift - 4:04 I'm Only Looking - 3:31 Freedom Deep - 3:59 Elegantly Wasted - 4:32 I'm Just A Man - 4:48 We Are Thrown Together - 5:36 I think that's about 60 minutes a disc, and sure I could bump it out to 70 or 80 per disc, but that would get really hard for me. I reckon that is pretty close to my favourite Inxs tracks..... For me I would probably want more Shabooh Shoobah and Swing tracks, but then it would throw it out of balance Anyway, after all that wandering. I think that The Very Best is a very compilation, but it is a little heavy on those three middle albums for me

When I was looking at this, the thing that would have twisted my arm and got me to buy it, is if the US 1983 live footage had been complete rather than just one song. To some degree I still hope one day we get that released. Funnily enough I think the Best Of on here is a possibly a little better than the single disc Very Best we just looked at, though it seems odd that Stay Young didn't get on there.
This looks like one helluva good collection. Is it missing anything previously released that was omitted for some reason? It seems exhaustively complete, and if I get around to buying an INXS compilation of videos this would definitely be the one to go with.
The most obvious singles with videos, missing. The Loved One Stay Young To Look At You I Send A Message Burn For You Dancing On the Jetty The Stairs Heaven Sent Please Freedom Deep Just from a quick look

These were online downloads the second I got on iTunes (can't see it there today) Tiny summer was on their website with a written introduction to Ciaran. I saw INXS live with Ciaran 3 times and he was great. The first time with him was on a show somewhere on the Murray River and the band got us (the audience) to sing the backing vocals alone which they then put into the We are united single. So I am singing on their last single. The second time was at Hahndorf in a pub and They played a few new tracks which they said they were recording (Kirk called out some punters for trying to record them on their phones). Something must have happened because soon after they were on tour with Matchbox Twenty anouncing their last tour (Adelaide Entertainment Center).
