I’ve always thought that The Debut, Killers, Powerslave, LAD and SIT sounded fantastic in their original CD form. I did have the original UK LP’s at the time and once I got a CD player in ‘86 the only thing I played were the CD’s. I did, however, only have a cheap Sony Turntable so maybe the comparison wasn’t fair. Then again, I only had a 1986 Somy CD player. I stopped buying/playing LP’s in ‘88 so my only reference for LP quality these days is pb####’s rips so my opinion must be taken with a pinch of salt.

It's especially an issue when every album is 65-75 minutes long. I can get past bad sound if the music is good enough, but when it's bad sound for that long at once, it really does kind of ruin it. There's very good music on all of the reunion-era Maiden albums, but still probably only a vinyl LP's worth of truly great stuff on each. But so went the CD era.

Your post describes perfectly how I feel about these albums.

I couldn’t agree with you more.

Wow, you sir, are an absolute legend

Finally got around to downloading this

Put POM in added +2b bass up to 100hz

    Sounds much better

When I get time I’ll fiddle around a bit more..... didn’t seem to harm the sound any either

    Thanks again
