I'm thinking I owned something special and I went elsewhere...not perfect..you make your best choice and then context, circumstances dictate that later you reflect...holy fukk...I had something better....

I don't believe this is the first thread where someone has lamented selling off their Esoteric A-100.

To make it less gender-specific, let's say that an audio system can be like a life partner. Even when convinced yours is great -- and gives you a lot of pleasure -- you can daydream about other configurations. And sometimes one that's flashier or of more recent vintage catches the eye and is hard to forget about.

I had a McIntosh C20(early) and C22 and sold both off when I became paranoid that if they ever broke down I would have nobody to bring them to locally, and I was scared of shipping these museum pieces across the country. Got good money for them, but over the last few months really started to regret selling both. I regretted it so much that yesterday I broke down and bought a restored McIntosh C11 from Audio Classics. I finally got sane and realized that shipping something as small and light as one of these preamps is not difficult. Add to that a 1 year warranty if something goes awry, and I think I'm finally back in business.

When I get it on Friday I'll take some better pics. That's a pic that AC sent me.

It seems that many of us in this hobby have commitment issues when it comes to our stereo systems.
