"Stay away from Creative Sounds. I worked for them in the late 80's and early 90's and "Remastered" several albums for them including the Black Sabbath and Deep Purple albums. These albums were all transferred from vinyl LP to 1/4" tape at 30 ips. I then manually edited out most of the clicks and pops using a razor blade. These are horrible rip-offs."

    found this on discogs

  4. I am sure they are not all sourced from needle drops. They did have tapes for the Sabbath albums they released, and most of the CDs sound tape-sourced. Just not very good.

The only one I came across that was sourced from vinyl was a 2CD We Sold Our Soul. Otherwise, every other CD I've checked out (sometimes multiple masterings of the same album) have all been tape or prior CD sourced. That's for Sabbath. I have no idea about the Purple releases.

I also find the claims of cutting out most of the clicks by taking a razor blade to the tape pretty hard to swallow.
