No, but the 06/11/1972 ZoSo tour show that I saw is still in my top five all-time concert experiences. Everybody brought their 'A-game' that night...

When I was a teenager, yes. Nowadays they wouldn't make my top 50.

They're not for me but Robert Plant goes higher up the list with every solo release.

He's been remarkable in recent times.

Used to be, top 10 now. Still have good memories of the 73 concert I attended, definitely one of the top five concerts I've been to.

Yeah, I've heard of them. Didn't care for it sadly.

No, but they are among my 30 favorites. That's quite an honor

This is good. Zep have a pop element to them which is usually ignored.

Zep will probably always be my number 1 band, and they have been for 40 years now. My relationship with them has changed somewhat, however, as they have become inextricably linked to my life, my memories, and my history; and it is for this reason that I think they will always hold the honorary top spot. I adore their music, but I need to hear them less and less as I have heard their music so much before. Every once and a while I crave some Zep, and if I pick the right album side, at the right moment, it will still blow my socks off.

    Other faves would include:

    Black Sabbath
    Pink Floyd
    Yes
    The Beatles
    The Doors
    Hendrix

    You said it perfectly.

For the same reasons you listed, The Beatles, Zep, and Kiss will always have honorary spots in my "Top 5" even if other artists or even other styles of music are more in line with my "grown up" tastes.

A lot of responses in this thread remind me of people who say they "grew up" and stopped liking Kiss around age 12 when they matured into "better" music. For Zep, it was more like a high school phase they grew out of...

I stopped listening to the radio about 10 years ago, I think that has helped me avoid some of the burn out (not that I'm dying to crank up "Rock & Roll" et al.).

In the last 5 years, I've acquired HtWWW and TSRtS. It's like discovering a new world of Zep. I actually don't even mind the 24 min versions of "Dazed" if I'm doing something else (like organizing my CDs) while it's playing.

Definitely Top 5. My second favourite of all time. Behind Peter Gabriel they are the artist/band I’ve followed most consistently over the years since becoming a fan in 1973 aged 11.

To work out a top 5/10/25/whatever I'd need to sit in a dark room for weeks and argue with myself. So I'll pass...

  18. I really like ''Kashmir'' but they're probably not in my top 500.

Indeed. And it's not even based on all 8 or 9 albums as a legacy which is strong. Just the core best 25 songs and what they were as a live act. Material strong enough that is shadows over so much of the rest of the pack. Each of their many albums are loved by millions, still being listened to by youths. I like them equal to Floyd, and Who, and any of these three acts live on a summer evening in '75 would be satisfactory to me, I'm not picky when it reaches this level.

I can go back to PG and not be burned out on some of the songs after all these years. That is remarkable. That album is like Sandinista it keeps on giving. Parts of III I did not over-play, so that sounds good still.

No. I respect Led Zeppelin but their music is not my cup of tea really. My top five artists has long been:

    Elvis Presley
    Bob Dylan
    The Beatles
    The Rolling Stones
    The Jimi Hendrix Experience

They are amazing but probably top 50 (for their studio work). Never thought they really cut it live, as they lacked enough players to recreate their recordings and the lengthy solo spots were over indulgent. Preferred the first Page Plant tour for live versions of their material.
