It must come as a shock for a lot of people here that other genres and styles and preferences exist outside of boomer music.

It only took me to number 2 to find something I've never heard of before. This will give me some new stuff to audition and perhaps expand my tastes, so kudos for that. Even if I don't like something, I figure I'm better off for having listened to something new. :nauga:

Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

Not much on that list for my tastes.

    Nice list. I own 47/100.

I strongly disagree with you restricting it to "one album per artist" though.

If anyone genuinely has a Flower Kings album in their top 100, they need their head examining. And I say that as a fan.

Agreed, 76:14 was completely new to me. Listened to it last night and loved it so much that I ordered it before it had completely played through.

At the risk of embarrassing myself, I'll admit that I also had never heard The Queen is Dead, Air II, Doolittle OR In a Silent Way "all the way through in a single setting". Thanks to this list, I've taken the time to correct that! :) (also was inspired to buy a copy of Violator, an album I love but didn't have in my collection). Looking forward to Rising Force next.

Yeah? Can you post a list? I'd be very interested in what you're into then.

    I recounted and it turns out I have 57 of Eric's 100.

I've been working on creating a top 100 list, but I don't think it would really be too interesting for most here. I am hardly the most diverse person here, musically speaking.

I would love for both of you to post your list...100 is extremely generous...even a Top 20 or Top 50 Albums would be fantastic. Such a great way to find new music!

Interesting list. I like the eclecticism. There's about a dozen albums I love in the list, and about three dozen I hate. Weird to see them all mixed together.

That's absurd. I have "Flower Power" in my Top 100. The hour-long Garden Of Dreams is remarkable. And The Flower Kings actually have several overlong albums, that if condensed to their 50-min core, are some of the best albums released in the last 40 years.

Yeah, I'll do it. Prepare for like 6 Rush and Sabbath releases in the top 50 . No, I can do better than that, but it won't be Eric's list, either, I assure you!

Great list there, dude. I love it, actually. Many bands I like on that one.

Your anger in this thread befuddles me due to your cool listening tastes. Does not the bong sate the fury? :)

Interesting list. I appreciate the fact that it seems to be a very 'free' list. I wish I could write down a list so free, without mentioning the usual Forever Changes or Velvet Underground & Nico or other 'critic's darlings' that seem inevitable.
    Cheers

Frankly, I wouldn't care. Everybody's taste is different. What I'd do is post a cool list and let people know you're down. You did that. People approach music from different angles and they express themselves differently on forums. Such is the nature of the beast. :)
