ok, I don't really have the maniacal collector gene but I do get a giddy wee thrill at seeing Japanese pressing 7"'s out in the wild here in Japan. so thought I would rummage through discogs chronologically and see just what is out there for random bands. some of the 7"s I've never even sighted before, at any price. first up, Roxy Music, seeing as I stumbled across a rad "Musik Laden" performance of theirs on telly last night: Virginia Plain b/w Pyjamarama Year: ? rough value: oh god rarity: unicorn. unsighted. ever. Do the strand b/w Editions of you Year: 1973 rough value: $70 rarity: unicorn. unsighted. ever. All I want is you b/w Your application's failed Year: 1974 rough value: god knows rarity: another unicorn. albeit an unwanted one. basically zero haves/wants for this on discogs. odd. maybe it was the mailed-in cover? Both ends burning b/w For your pleasure Year: 1975 rough value: god knows. unsold on discogs. rarity: another unsighted unicorn. also a fairly unwanted one. nobody has this on discogs. and bugger-all people want it. Love is the drug b/w Sultanesque Year: 1975 rough value: maybe $60. never sold rarity: more unicorn. plenty want it.
