Sheesh. I have the "Can't Buy A Thrill" one with OBI, which was recently done. All remastered from UNi. I paid $27 for it, and only because it was "something neat". They're nothing sonically specitacular from the US ones. It's just for collectibility. Pretzel and Scam were the ones that I've rarely seen.
A lot of these Japanese mini-LP CDs go for a lot of eBay. Look at the Zeppelin discs. How do the mini-LP Steely Dan CDs sound in comparison to other versions?
Sckott, $27 for Can't Buy A Thrill? Not bad really I ended up having to pay a lot more for that one. It was the only one I needed to complete my set. At a run of only 5,000 apiece, they didn't last too long.
I kind of chuckle at that one. Warner in Canada and I guess the U.S. are releasing all the Zeppelin CDs in mini-LP sleeves shortly. No new remastering though.
I bought "Countdown to Ecstasy" in 2 CD formats: the Japanese mini-LP and the most recent USA remastering. As far as I'm concerned they sound identical. One of them cost me 8.99 and one cost 24.99. That's the other difference.
I have never heard a JPN cd that didn't sound better (even if only a little bit) than its US counterpart. Never, not once.
