The final Jeopardy tonight was a lot easier. A no-brainer really.

I couldn't think of it because I never thought of Petty as a southern rocker.

I never thought of it cause I never associated torpedoes with the Civil War.

I immediately thought Tom Petty and thought of Damn The Torpedoes but questioned myself did they have torpedoes in the Civil War?

Bingo! Petty was a southerner, and he was a rocker.

But when I think "Southern Rockers", I think Skynyrd or .38 Special, etc., not TP&TH.

So I might've not gotten that one because "Southern Rocker" would've thrown me off.

(Also didn't know "damn the torpedoes" was a Civil War-era phrase! :hide:)

Google says torpedoes referred to mines that were in the water during the Civil War period so now it makes sense to me.

I remember that question. It had to do w/his last all woman backing band.

Do you remember the actual answer?

(Because "Jeopardy!" requires contestants to provide the questions, whereas the show presents the answers! :D)

The answer was 3rdeyegirl was whose musical genius’ backing band from 2012 to 2016. Who was Prince?

By the way, how’s the doggie situation? Is you new avatar another one of your late dog or you new dog?

I missed the Petty reference because I took the clue too literally and was trying to think of a solo artist (which I couldn't resolve). Shouldn't the clue have been "southern rockerS"?

Yes, I agree. The album is by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, not Tom Petty, solo artist. The "southern rocker" stumped me too although technically he was.

My 2 current pups are well, thanks! Pokey the 1-year-old has been a delight since I adopted her last year.

When I think "southern rockers" I think Lynyrd Skynyrd and Allman Brothers. I don't think even once have I considered Tom Petty to be southern rock.

I think the "idea" comes from folks who think someone who is from Gainesville, Florida, and formed their first band there, is somehow NOT considered to be a "Southern Rocker".

Yeah, I think of "Southern Rock" as a genre, not a geographical thing.

Like "Arena Rock". It's a sound/vibe. An "Arena Rock" band can play 100-person clubs!

Florida gets more "southern" the farther north you go.
