I don't get this vibe at all. For one thing, JH was quicker with his answers whereas CP tends to buzz in then search for the answer a la Amodeo. JH is more alpha than Chris but I do marvel at his general knowledge which is a must in any long-term winner. I could do without the thumb up thing he does and for god's sake, someone get the guy some new shirts.

I had a silly conspiracy theory watching Amodio and his pauses... that he had a hidden or implanted speaker in his ear feeding him to Holzhauer and maybe a team of ex-champs listening in and providing assistance!

Yeah, it was somewhat of a conspiracy thing I saw on various forums at the time. Yours is pretty creative. I imagine they have an inner rolodex they have to flip through.

Not that it mattered with respect to the outcome but there was a question tonight about a Canadian donut company & Cris answered Tim Horton where it should have been Tim Hortons. He never got penalized but later on one of the other contestants did for leaving off an s.

I noticed Ken hesitated before saying correct. If using Quebec pronunciation it actually was correct.

I compared him to Holzhauer because of the way he works a certain number into his wagers, although Jeopardy James did it with more frequency, and varied the numbers, rather than just (seemingly) focusing on a number that has to do with his GF.

And yes, the thumbs up thing has got to go!

But we don't know the story behind it. Perhaps it's a message to his proctologist?

That, or he's just a big time fan of Arthur Fonzarelli (AKA 'The Fonz').

I've seen that same thumb-up stance used in various photos featuring both celebs and everyday people so I assume theres a significance I don't know about.

Chris seemed to be losing his mojo a couple of times this week but he got through that hiccup and the steamrollin' is back on track.

19 straight wins is FOUR STRAIGHT days of playing Jeopardy! They tape 5 games per day.

I'm aware of how the show tapes and have postulated before that previous mega-champs like Amodio seemed over it by the time they were taken out. Chris P. doesn't behave like he's reached that point yet. Besides, he's missed some really easy questions recently so yeah, fatigue must be setting in at times. Buck up Chris, you've got a ways to go to really scare Ken.

I admit when I saw "Don't Be Cruel" my first thought was Cheap Trick even though that's a band and not a guy. I didn't remember the Bobby Brown song.

Whenever I see the song title 'Don't Be Cruel', I think of Elvis Presley's record of the song. (Although Cheap Trick did do a decent cover of it.)

Do they no longer do the 'teen tournament'? I was trying to remember the last time I saw one. That'd seem the place for all current teen media and boy band questions... but if they don't do one anymore...

    I'm thinking he submitted those.

I'm guessing the pandemic threw a monkey wrench into that particular event, especially since they're dealing with minors. I'll bet they do one in 2023.
