‘While it was a bit of a surprise, you’d think Matt or Andrew or even Amy, Mattea is one cool customer and wasn’t intimidated by James.
It was fun to watch, and definitely was pulling for Mattea. Overall it reinforces that getting Ken as host is a coup. He’s really good. The Santos comment was an instant classic.
Man...these shows were SO good, and I think the rapport Ken had with the contestants was a HUGE part of that. I said it earlier...Ken is a better host than Alex. I just wish he giggled like a little girl when the Daily Doubles appear.
I'm over the moon James won, though that sure was a nail biter. James is the smartest most entertaining Jeopardy contestant ever in my opinion, and I couldn't be happier for him. The regular shows just don't seem the same without him.
Yeah the regular shows are generally a bore after the fireworks every night from the Masters. Guess it’s time to create more Masters.
I hate the click bait style headlines that websites use today. All of them make it seem like something controversial has happened just in hopes to get that extra eye in their site.
Still enjoying the regular show with Mayim: lots of clues went unsolved tonight and yet another new champ.
Earlier in this thread, I said I was rooting for Mattea or James to win. As the shows went on, and James was racking up huge point totals, I figured he was going to be the winner. I was glad to see Mattea coming in second though, but if would have been something if Mattea would have pulled it off and toppled James... I'm just glad that Matt Amodio didn't win.
She was kind of the under-dog, but I would have liked it if the movie buff woman would have won Thursday's game.
If It's any consolation, she gets my response of the day award with this little nugget: If you were part of this "earthy" group taking in a play at the Globe Theater, you payed the lowest amount to stand in the Pit and watch "um, what are....the dirt....something"?
I agree. Prior to the tournament, I kept saying that it was all a publicity stunt and a reason for Jeopardy to keep trodding out these champions for ratings. Well, I was dead wrong. What I didn't understand was that they all have their own individual, great on-air personalities as well. Ken Jennings meshed well, and his banter with the champions was first rate. The game play also ended up being wonderful too with a few nail biters. All in all, for me, it was a great, nerdy, three weeks of shows.
