I thought it was something like everyone got one pass or something.

I think Couric is doing a nice job. She definitely needed a couple of days to settle but now she seems comfortable.

Is the quarterback the next host?

There was a Sunday Night Rebroadcast a month or so ago, an older male contestant did it about 3 times in Single Jeopardy, and Alex allowed & corrected him each time. It was weird.

    No. It's Dr. Oz.

I absolutely refuse to watch it now. I lived with both Mr. Fleming and Mr. Trebek as the show's host.
I'll always associate them with Jeopardy.
That and the "Final Jeopardy" music, of course.

Sometimes he wouldn't rule the answer wrong, and just sit there silent until the contestant figured it out for herself.

To this day I remember the original Final Jeopardy song, exactly in my aural memory, and hearing the one they always used with Alex and now is still a dissonance with me. There is a subtle change in the melody, and of course a completely different recording.

Is that hard to find a replacement..? they knew Alex, was dying for a year..
    Heck use Kelsey Grammer.

That's happened before with Alex. He would issue a reminder.

Two notes of the melody are different in the Alex version. I deal with the new recording, but those wrong two notes always make me wince (or something).

My guess is that this (a season of guest hosts) is just a transitional period until a new permanent host takes over and that the show-runners want the appearance of a transitional period taking place and that the choice of Trebek's replacement was a careful, reverent and deliberate decision. And a bit oddly, I think with covid still going on, the show-runners want a return to a general sense of 'normalcy' before the new permanent host settles in - which I still think will most likely be Ken Jennings.

P.S. I like that suggestion of Kelsey Grammer, but I doubt if he would do it.

I loathe Dr. Oz. I’ll be passing on this week.

Last night while watching the local news, they had a special little promo thing by Dr. Oz where he says he'll being guest hosting on Jeopardy this week, and to catch his show weekdays on that local network...

He did alright. I will say, thus far, he seems the most comfortable on a first episode. Ken and Katie both needed a few days to settle in.

On a side note: there was something about his delivery that reminded me of Casey Kassum(sp?)

For me the show is bigger than the host. The best game show I have ever seen and I will continue to watch.

But I miss the native of Northern Ontario a lot, Alex was fantastic.

I had the "board" game and it was as great as the TV show.

I will not justify Dr. Mehmet Oz with my presence in front of JEOPARDY while he's on it. I'll watch reruns of M*A*S*H on MeTV instead. It would be great if the ratings showed a substantial drop.

He wasn't bad. There was a clue implying that aromatherapy is good for your health. Am I being paranoid, or is he asking them to insert nonsense like this?
