Makes sense to me. Amazon is not the best when it comes to track listing.

Who's springing for the LP? Lemme know if it's any good. I'm not much for collecting...however, it is Tull we're talking about here.

So, wait... It looks like there's no 2CD+Blu-Ray release for this, just 2CD+DVD? That can't be right.

There is hi-res stereo on the DVD. Works for me.
And, there's an LP. If you're into big plastic. (I never did understand why it is referred to as wax.)

While I might be in for the vinyl (or even the 2CD+DVD as it is), I was more interested in Blu-Ray for the 5.1 mix. Much rather have that on Blu-Ray then DVD.

IMO. they righted a wrong and I'm happy as hell! good for them in using their thinking caps for a change! Granted there should be a BR for those inclined but those of us who do not want it are very pleased with the decision!

    Why?
I'm asking out of curiosity, not trying to be pedantic. Are you that into multi-channel mixes? The only thing a BR would offer is a lossless 5.1 mix. There are DD and DTS 5.1 versions on the DVD.

When Jethro Tull released Benefit in 1970, it signaled a new, more progressive musical direction for the English band. It also became one of the best-known albums of their career, which is going strong more 60 million records and 40 years later. The Grammy winning group is revisiting that pivotal album with a 2-CD/DVD-Audio collector s edition.

The 2-CD/DVD collection comes loaded with a massive amount of music recorded by the band, which at the time featured: multi-instrumentalist frontman Ian Anderson, guitarist Martin Barre, drummer Clive Bunker, pianist John Evan, and bassist Glenn Cornick.

The first disc contains the album s 10 original tracks, plus five bonus tracks that include both the U.K. and U.S. stereo versions of "Teacher. " All the songs are newly mixed by Steven Wilson and approved by Ian Anderson. The second disc includes newly remastered versions of rare tracks and singles recorded around the same time as Benefit, such as "Sweet Dream" in both stereo and mono.

The audio-only DVD, which is available exclusively with this version, is packed with 58 tracks, including the album and bonus tracks in 5.1 surround sound. It also contains the U.K and U.S. versions of the album. The American version was sequenced differently and replaced the U.K. track "Alive and Well and Living In" with "Teacher. " In addition, the set also comes with a handsome booklet filled with rare photographs, an essay by Martin Webb, and interviews with band members.

  16. Just to show that you can please all the people all the time I was hoping for another Aqualung type boxset. Much neater that having to purchase multiple sets to get all the goodies.

I didn't really want an Aqualung type box but a high Rez Blu-ray option would have been nice.

I see your point, but for those of us who do not want 2 useless items that will up the price considerably...

...the 2 CD & DVD is just what the Doctor ordered for this release...

No lossless 5.1. It is a DVD-V, like TAAB.

Seems to be the way they're going with these reissues. Is the upcoming Yes CTTE also on DVD- V or lossless hi-Rez?
