Heavy Horses is great album and sounds fantastic in surround.

Heavy Horses is my alltime favourite album.
    So happy with the box...

My thought was that the copy suggests that the original tape had been overdubbed with a rerun.... and I assume the versions on YouTube are fan recorded copies of previously aired showings not official BBC uploads.

True, but I only listen to it once a year on my Christmas playlist.

    You've stated this several times.

But I thought you said screw it, and started selling off much of your hi-res and surround, cashing out big chunks of the collection? Right here in the classifieds.

"Ring Out, Solstice Bells" is a masterwork compared the horrid McCartney scholock Christmas hit. At least (to me) it feels like a cold wintery holiday tune.

  9. I agree. I love Glascock's contrapuntal bass line over the beginning of the verse and the words "Seven druids dance in seven time".

I have the original 7" UK EP, and it's one of my prized items of my imported singles section. Not worth much but I adore it, and the tracks were non-LP and non-CD for a while there.

Yes, I remember when that came out. Solstice Bells, March the Mad Scientist, and Pan Dance? Think I have it buried away in storage somewhere.

There was in the US a 12" version, might have been promo only?

I still like my 7" with the center not punched out. Too nice to sell off for a couple of bucks.

Nice but you may as well tell us US? and if it’s a 12”, and if it is, is it a promo label?

I believe that’s the U.K. 7” EP. I have one, and it has the same picture sleeve.

Can you imagine Tuill being one of the hottest bands in the world, and in the US in particular, and they have a special non-LP set of tracks. and decide to issue it as a 12" EP for "Promotional Use Only" in the US with no commercial copy released here.

Talk about leaving money on the table. I wonder who's idea this was?

Here is one of several “reactions” from a young classical flutist Helene from Sweden.

    2:30 and 3:00 4:20 onward are entertaining

She's Heline from Finland, but yeah I got a kick out of Yet Trow Tool too (it's still better than how French people pronounce it, believe me!)

  20. This is the start of the trilogy that end with Stormwatch. Have all three in surround my favorite has always been song from the woods. Steven Wilson did a fantastic discrete mix of Song

I have this little voice inside me that says "when this covid thing is over you know all this physical media will be too!"
I have this knawing gut sense that my CD store cruising days will be over.
That if I want any CDs now I should "get them .......pronto!"

Don't know why, but this all feels like the "end" of something the the dawn of a new era.

when I bought the Zappa Hot Rats box during isolation, a tiny inner voice said ..................why?

Most people with a passing interest give up on Tull before Songs from the Wood.

It is a shame as it is one of their stellar moments.

Minstrel and Wood were always nice bookends to me

I like the body language and how her face twitched while hearing the grunting part! :biglaugh:Nice too hear she has very positive comments about Ian technique and intensity!

Yethro Tull is kind of funny. I checked her other videos. I like and will probably dig her catalog as I am also into classical music.
