What do people want to know? The remixes sounded fantastic last time I heard them. Just a few things to iron out. I have the list at home.
Thank you. List, list, list. Details, details, details. Jethro Tull The Broadsword and the Beast SW remix and sessions coming in 2022
I'd be interested to know what you are actually doing. Wilson's mixes are already in the digital domain, and we know he doesn't like mastering engineers messing with his sound, so what sorts of adjustments are you making? Do you also do CD/BluRay authoring, or does someone else do that after you're done?
I review the mixes and propose improvements if necessary. I'm sort of a second pair of ears. Authoring is done by other people.
So, what you're saying is you get paid to hear this stuff before any of us can? Actually, in all seriousness, cheers to you. I've never done mixing/mastering work professionally, but I know how messing with any recording can lead to endless hours of second-guessing. The second set of ears can really be essential. Real talk time though: how many previously-unheard studio cuts are in the wings on this project?
I bought one of these and I'm listening right now. Sounds a lot better than my old scratchy 1983 LP. Thanks for the info @Z eb ! Now I'm just wondering why some pressings use "WarChild" versus "War Child" for album title and song . . . weird.
"War Child" (aka both "WarChild" & "Warchild") I cant find any reason to why..... My remaster says WAR CHILD, and my Remix edition WarChild...
Vinyl with original newspaper packaging; CD/DVD book package as issued in 2012. Nothing new added, just a reprint of the 40th anniversary set. JETHRO TULL: Thick As A Brick 50th anniversary deluxe reissue this October
Do we dare hope it's the corrected mastering? I feel stupid even considering it, but if the master is corrected here, I would be tempted to double-dip since my copy is one of the error stricken ones.
Well let's see . . . in those two images, we have "WarChild" , "Warchild" and "War Child" . . . that definitely clears matters up.
If you look at the linked thread, people have contacted Burning Shed for more information - the tentative answer seems to be "probably, maybe." @tootull, who has participated in several of the Wilson reissue projects, says this: I remember the VHS release of Yessongs touted the presence of the "original" lineup, even though only two of the original five members appear in the movie. To bring balance to the universe, observe the packaging of this Tull compilation that stops at 1974: Because the compilation covers three different lineups, the only way to avoid the appearance of favoritism was to use a jarringly anachronistic cover photo.
