From the beginning the Peter Mew stereo mastering was not considered to be bad by the record company. Edited
...Boy is that Mew master/DVD/errors corrected stuff migraine inducing... lol ...On a lighter note, as a North American inhabitant, I've always found it amusing that the prominent man holding the cheque on the front cover looks like Archie Bunker, and the lady right behind little Gerald, with a hand on his shoulder, like... Edith Bunker! Probably just a coincidence. But the "All In The Family" American sitcom was barely a year old in '72 and a smashing success. Was it known/broadcast at all in the UK?
Good point. I'll agree. "All In The Family" Based on the British sitcom Till Death Us Do Part, All in the Family was produced by Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin.
So, is anything different from the 40th anniversary sets or is it a straight repress? New stuff in the book?
I always thought the "Yeah" should be there, but it's not on my early UK green label Porky pressing. So is it REALLY supposed to be there?
Hmm, I should not question your expertise, but are you certain about the UK vinyl? Because I just recently played mine, listened for it specifically and was shocked not to hear it. Maybe I am getting confused, because I played both that and the old MFSL LP at the same time, but I distinctly remember it missing from at least one of those.
I have said this 'Thick As A Brick' The flat transfer of the original mix in 24/96 on the new 40th DVD is the new digital champ as far as I'm concerned. & after all this, I listen to the MFSL CD the most. Spin! Spin me back down the years Made in Japan MoFi
Given how quiet the yeah is even on CD without any surface noise it could be the case that you have to listen very carefully on vinyl...
Just looked at my one disc version (P) 2012 (C) 2015 From what ive read in here, its MEW-Less BUT......His name is in the credits : Mastering at Abbey Road by Peter Mew
Jethro Tull Sets Thick as a Brick 50th Anniversary 1LP Half-Speed Master in Original Newspaper Packaging for July 29
I just ordered the 10th anniversary of the 40th anniversary TAAB from Amazon. It is selling like hot cakes on there at a #27 sales rank for all CD/DVD items on Amazon. Hopefully, enough copies will be manufactured to fulfill all the pre-orders. There is an ominous precedent—a number of years ago, there were not enough copies to satisfy the demand for the Songs From The Wood box set.
