How do you figure? It's currently listed at $79.34 at Amazon USA and CDN$26.99 at Amazon Canada.

I reckon it's the same LPs as both have the same Amazon ASIN number of B008S6B44Y, whatever the heck that means.

Whoops - I didn't know you were talking about the box with the vinyl. Never mind.

Me, I just want the 5.1.

:) Yeah, well, got that on pre-order too.

Was bummed about the outrageous LP price until our friend from up north tipped us off about a more reasonable price for the LP. :D

I have no interest in TAAB II so I am passing on the vinyl box.
Not sure why the cd DVD combo is so high compared to the ELP sets that are out now.

There's such a disparity in pricing. I don't get it. May have to dollar cost average on this one now.

Steven Wilson got paid less to do the ELP mixes than he got from the King Crimson and Jethro Tull mixes.

As some of you know, there is a difference in the cost of authorizing a DVD-Video and authorizing a DVD-Audio. Well, the original plan was to release a DVD-Video but Neil and Steven wanted a DVD-Audio, so that extra cost was not charged, courtesy of Neil Wilkes.

The CD/DVD combo for TAAB includes a 104 Page book.

    So there you go.

Oh good! It is DVD-A. I figured it wasn't. Now I feel much better spending $30

Are we sure that it is a DVD-Audio?

Woah, where did I say that the TAAB DVD is a DVD-A?

I said that Neil didn't charge for the difference between authorizing a DVD-V and a DVD-A, which means it would be cheaper, which partly answers your question as to why the ELPs sets are cheaper than the TAAB CD/DVD set. Neil authorizes the ELP DVD-As.

Neil isn't doing the DVD authorizing for the TAAB DVD, Ray Shulman is and he doesn't do DVD-As, only DVD-Vs.

So the vinyl pricing varies between $28 and $79 depending on where you purchase. It's absurd.

It's absurd because the price on Amazon.ca has to be a mistake. Similar to what they did with the Complete Smiths (which I got for an insanely low price from amazon.ca) before they must have realized they were charging the wrong price.

Not sure how Amazon.ca keeps making these "errors", but they seem to make good on the price if you order (even if it is clear it is a mistake).

ok....but then how would the EMI info in post 206 fit in with the Amazon.ca situation?

Notice that is also a Canadian website. It seems "obvious" to me that somehow the price for the LP through a Canadian distributor or computer listing has the information for the Jethro Tull LP set incorrect.

In reality, do you truly believe that a multi-LP set, with a 72page book, etc. could really be about $27.00.

I don't have any inside information, but logic dictates that the price on those Canadian sites is a "mistake".

But take advantage of it while you can.

    I just did.

  18. It's been that price for at least 2 weeks so if it's a mistake you'd think it would have been picked up by now.

The original price on Amazon.ca was $36.99 a few weeks back, now reduced to $26.99.

I went to visit a friend of mine who works at HMV. I had him look up his cost. Both the vinyl and the cd/DVD-A were a little over $23.00. I'd say Amazon.ca is correct.

I believe you. But I still have to believe the LP price is wrong. Why only in Canada is the price that low?
