I doubt it very much because the DVD carries the documentary title. If it was the full concert, it would have the same title as the album.
] Nice looks to be both shows complete. Placement of Spanish Castle, Lover Man and Message To Love appears to be out of order but I can live with that. Or is this in fact the correct sequence and our boots have been had the tracks out of order for all these years?
The Purple Haze Records release was copied from "Last American Concert Volume 1" and "Last American Concert Volume 2", released by bootleg company "The Swingin' Pig Records" in 1990. Vol 1: Jimi Hendrix: Last American Concert (The Swingin' Pig) Vol 2: Jimi Hendrix: Last American Concert (The Swingin' Pig)
Considering the situation, It’s surprising it’s as good as it is. I’d put it just behind Berkeley. The technical issues are all baked in at the beginning, he’s in control of his feedback and all. If you think shows like Atlanta and IoW may be lacking in energy, he makes up for it here.
Excellent VC video. As an editor and colour corrector I am still dissapointed there are shots with weird brownish shadows instead of nice clear blackish shadows @ 3:35 etc. At 4:05 watch the woman at the center bottom of the screen looking at the psychedelic trails as she waves her hands.
Here in the official trailer at 1:12 you can clearly see Mitch's pregnant wife sitting directly behind Mitch while he'splaying. Also at 1:28 you can clearly see some of the never before bootlegged footage being used.
The Purple Haze sounds far better than any boot I've heard, including Last American Concert and Incident at Rainbow Bridge.
WOW.... the 2nd set is the legendary one and one I've been waiting to hear properly for decades.... IN

This’ll be interesting then. It’s gonna have been difficult to do anything much with one drum mix regardless of what technology they have access to.
EH will do their editing magic. For those who've obsessively watched their releases can spot times when they bluffed on editing to include songs that only had half a song coverage from a single camera angle. Note the magic drum fill 0:42-0:46 The MJ estate went to his parents in the mid 70's and then given to 12 churches in their wills. As far as I'm away the xerox of the Chalpin contract may be the only Jimi recording contract that exists today.
Overalll I find the colors and picture to be quite nice. Not sure I like the video edit was though. It uses some of the smae footage used in Rainbow Bridge along with the single camera footage that circulates among collectors along with some footage that wasnt in Rainbow Bridge or In the circulating single camera Footage. So overall that bides well for unseen footage. What I dont like about this exit is there is a section in oodoo Child where Jimi is doing these amazing runs to the point where he puts a smile on his own face and looks over at Mitch like “yeah that was pretty boss and fun!” In the new edit footage during that part u dont see any of that ineraction. Hoping they have some seperate raw camera footage like Monterey and IOW so we can see the event from more than one perspective than the multicamera edit.
No, they were never billed as such. They were The Experience, with the difference that Billy replaced Noel.
I don't care if it syncs with the video either. I'm more concerned that the drums will sound totally different on the songs Mitch didn't overdub. I hope they have salvaged the original for all the songs so that there is some continuity in the sound.
I think you are confusing "Last American Concert Vol. 1/2" with another bootleg called "Last American Concert". It is this one: Last American Concert - Alive and Flowing from the Crater of the Sun, Maui, Hawaii (Jupiter S-444 / 1981 / 1LP) You can read about it here: Post Page
