Mine is the 1974 version on So What, the first one is to slow.

I love all three but if I had to make a choice, I would go with the 1978 remix. The guitars are more prominent in the mix and it's the version that I heard first. When I bought So What, "Turn To Stone" didn't sound right to me initially. The opening drum fill was missing, the vocal sounded too dry in comparison to the remix, and the guitars seemed to be too far back in the mix. I grew to love it though. I have mixed feelings about the Barnstorm version. I love it because it rocks ()as juvenile as that may sound) but the arrangement could have used some tightening up.

The '74 version was tightened up and smoothed out to be more radio friendly and it's successful in that vein. The 78 remix was an improvement and gets second place.

My favorite is the original. Radio friendly isn't always best.

I've always felt that Turn To Stone reveals Walsh's Neil Young influence (Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere era) more than any other album.

Interesting. I don't hear that at all. Any songs in particular?

I haven't seen any other 'official' live stuff other than Largo Maryland on the documentary.

This show's actually been released as Take It to the Summit, if you have Amazon Prime it's free to download (on the phone) or listen to there. I think I've seen one other 1976 TTS "out there", this one is the better both playing-wise and in sound quality

My personal favorite. Great song and performance. Too bad the sound isn't as good as it could be.

Even seen a CD of this one? Streaming is nice but obviously not cd sound quality. Might download it anyways.

If there’s a cd out there, Amazon didn’t have it, just the stream. Discogs only has an unofficial release listed

I listened to about half the tracks its pretty good. Felder and Walsh put on a great show in the midst of some crappy Eagles songs. The guitar work on Witchy Woman was impressive. Enjoyable to say the least. But man Joe Walsh took a pretty bad live band and made them really good. To say he was the best part of the Eagles is an understatement in the live setting.

I was just listening to both the Barnstorm and So What versions back to back and I prefer the original. I Googled it to see if there were other opinions and lo and behold there are. I really love the feel of the original and I think it fits the song best.
