Great all-around entertainer, sexy as hell, plus she seemed like a good egg. I always liked her.

She seems to be an example of what show business can really be like. Always loved her on JC.

I always am wondering what happened to her and what is she doing these days? She would be a fantastic interview on TCM.

At that time, being a Cowboys fan (but no longer), I remember Rentzel's indecent exposure: Lance Rentzel - Wikipedia
This crime occurred in 1970, and while it is always a disgusting crime, it was shocking back then. Joey probably couldn't have known, so it would be unfair to smear her for Lance's action.

Last I heard she became a virtual recluse after the death of her father. It seemed like was suffering from some kind of mental illness.

What ever happened to Lance Rentzel? Where is he today?

I was at a Mexican restaurant on a visit to LA around 15 years ago and someone told me she was there. I was a bit tipsy but did go in and meet her. I'm guessing she was late 50s at the time but looked twice as old. It's not the years, its the miles. She obviously had been down a lot of miles of hard road. But in the 60s, few were as hot.

Unflattering photo. How old is she in the second? The same could probably hold true of me, and yes, I did have that haircut. Just in a different color.

Wasn't she, at least at one time, a Rat Pack member? That alone puts her above and beyond.

I don't recall her being part of the rat pack.

I've seen Heatherton referred to as a 'Rat Pack junior member' here and there.

Returning to hijack the thread a little, but I just watched some videos of Miss Heatherton dancing. It seems she relied on her undeniable sex appeal and supernatural high kicks. And I understand that you're all (just about) approaching this from the male viewpoint.

But Juliet Prowse is the one who really inspired me. (Yes, I had some ballet training, but with congenitally displaced knees, it was never to be.)

This is an awesome routine, done to a cover of the Hollies Stop Stop Stop (with incorrect lyrics!).

The Hollies had a unique hit with this song, but here, in the interpretation, the choreography, execution and fluidity of movement are stunning. I wish I knew whether the dance was done by the show choreographer, or an outsider.

    Kthx....now back to Joey.

My Uncle was friends with Lance Rentzel & I met them both through him when I was 19 or 20 around 70 or 71 IIRC about the time Lance was popped for indecent exposure with a 10 yr old girl & yes she was gorgeous & I hate to bust anyone's bubble but she was a pure b--ch as well...

I thought the name Rentzel sounded familiar.

Anyway, both ladies (Heatherton and Prowse) did share at least a loose affiliation with the Rat Pack, Prowse if merely for her relationship with Sinatra.
