Join Us For Vinyl Day on August 13 »

Other titles I noticed for that date, not mentioned in that article, include the latest Aaron Neville, two Michael Buble albums, and the Broadway Cast Recording of "Kinky Boots".

Join one of the big name music retailers who helped kill record stores to celebrate records, and.. wait what?

Interesting! Thanks! Though I sure do wish that Buble album was his self-titled "debut" (third album, first big label I suppose.) They skipped that one for some reason!

I've seen Nickelback on vinyl in those stores. Exclusive to B&N.

Really? B&N helped kill record stores? I never thought of them as quite so influential when it came to the major stores that put record stores out of business -- I tend to think of Best Buy or Circuit City when I think of that...

And in all fairness to them, I give them props for hanging in there and still HAVING a bricks and mortar book store -- and for carrying music and, yes, vinyl!

I'm surprised more Monkees fans aren't creaming themselves over the vinyl with a bonus 7"...

Send me a few 20% off coupons to go along with my 10% membership and you got my attention, B&N. They really pissed me off a few weeks ago when I had a couple coupons and they wouldn't take them during the Criterion sale despite nothing on the coupons or website saying Criterions were excluded (like toys, etc.).

They're not taking coupons for magazines either, which is real a Richardy move. It's buried in all the minuscule, boilerplate at the bottom of the coupon. I used to use those coupons to snag Shindig or Record Collector and maybe whatever special editions of Mojo or Uncut that were out and interesting. I have the membership, but I regard them as a necessary evil. Too bad Borders ran themselves into the ground.

It says that they're going to have activities and games. I have a idea for one; everyone that doesn't say "vinyls", doesn't get whacked upside their noggin.
I will say this for B&N, I loved those Josh Ritter deluxe versions, so thanks.

Not interested in any of the Vinyl Day exclusives, but is there usually a general sale on vinyl that day?

  21. Partyslammer

No. Everything is typically retail list price. I can't recall B&N ever having a music or vinyl-specific sale aside from being able to use the 20% off coupons members occasionally get in addition to their 10% discount.

Pretty sure the vinyl at B&N (though I don't know about exclusives) will be 10% off on Vinyl Day. Many of the stores now have an 'expanded selection' too. They added six bays of vinyl at my store just last week

I think it's more likely "not out til Vinyl Day" exclusives. LOL That would be my guess.
