It was amazing to be there. Brandi's introduction was very very cool, too. It's a bit on the long side, but I think the folks here would appreciate it. The Joni-specific stuff starts around 2:58. (I'm sorry, I could only find a Facebook video right now, I'm sure it'll be on YouTube soon.)

Awesome! You witnessed history & a miracle. Can’t seem to get the intro video to work but thanks for your efforts.

Incredible. Was there a single dry eye in the audience during Both Sides Now? Its meaning is deeper than ever for Joni.

Ah, sorry about that. She talks about the jam sessions Joni has apparently been hosting at her house in recent years, mentioning McCartney, Elton John, and Bonnie Raitt specifically.

Amy Karibian has some great videos every year at Newport and she looks like she's slowly uploading stuff to her YouTube account (she has quite a few tunes from Paul Simon's surprise appearance last night too.) https://www.youtube.com/c/AmyKaribian/videos

I'm sure Ashley Judge was thinking of her Mom during "Both Sides Now". Started to tear up myself. Beautifully done.

NY metro area has been in a heat wave for a week. Seems Newport hit 84 today.

If Rebecca Pearson was still alive she would have really enjoyed it… ;)

Kinda wild that we have almost a full video of a show we didn’t know was happening. So many miracles involved in all this.

Amazing news. Congratulations to those who were there to witness the show in person.

Despite being a longtime Joni fan, I have never seen her perform live. Wish I’d made the effort to cross the Atlantic in 1998 or 2000, but, at the time, I was busy with other things, and figured there would be further opportunities down the line. It is destined not to be.

  17. This is incredible! What a event. I just watched Refuge of the Roads yesterday, little did I know she'd be performing the very same day.

Remarkable event indeed, is a tour possible?

This is incredibly moving, and sad at the same time, but joyful, but heart-breaking, but uplifting, yet poignant and marvellous... I'm crying

She’s been through so much in the last 7 years or so and she’s back. So moving to witness this. <3

Was fully expecting Joni's voice to sound shot if she ever sung live again... she sounds better than she did in 2013 (I think it was?), and her phrasing is gorgeous... christ!!!
