Couldn't find the thread I was reading last night, but I just wanted to thank the original poster of said thread for the recommendation.

Listened to 'A Drop Of Light' by All Traps On Earth.......

Wow, good stuff, first thought was 'it's like a new Anglagard album'

Apologies for the terrible thread title.... please feel free to change.

Don't think it was the OP, but @Svetonio is a very prolific and passionate poster around here who seemingly finds many more hours in the day to listen to music than most of us :)

No problem. That thread with my 2018's favs is not visible at this moment as I asked the moderators to remove two links because I screwed up and put the wrong albums off two genres (math-rock & post-progressive; by mistake I posted the links from the last year). It's my mistake in any case, but I hope that the moderators will put the links that I subsequently sent to them, and that the thread will be publicly again soon.

I haven't listened to nearly as much new prog this year as in the past, but of what I did hear, I especially enjoyed the releases from Bubu, Gleb Kolyadin, and Perfect Beings. I think the stunning new album from Julia Holter (Aviary) could be thought of as a form of progressive rock, or at least art rock/pop (in the tradition of the very most adventurous sides of Kate Bush). In any event, I think many, if not most, prog fans would love it.

I suggested iamthemorning for progarchives' database in 2012 due to their debut album (btw, I prefer its original artwork), and they got trophy as the best album of that year at PA. Therefore, I did an interview with Marjana from iamthemorning; it's first iamthemorning interview ever - it might be an interesting read today: iamthemorning interview

Once again, thank you so much for opening my eyes (ears?) to this fantastic band.

I'll look forward to enjoying some of your other recommendations.

A mostly instrumental, guitar-oriented rock music with "broken" melodies that insisting on odd time signatures and with a hint of Jazz.

I really enjoyed Lemmings Suicide Myth and ZWOYLD. I'd previously heard the Monobody album and it was one of my favorites of 2018, regardless of genre.

Pretty crossover IMO. In their music one can hear alternative rock (e.g. Bixler Zavala's way of singing is closer to alt.rock idiom than to prog) and post-hardcore merged with 'progressive' & experimental rock elements.

    Honorably mention.
These gifted Germans are released two one-track EPs - debut EP released in 2014 and second one in 2018 - both are magnificent Progressive rock and I hope that they will complete a full-length album in 2019.

Enjoy in Die Irrealität der Zeit (transl. "The Unreality of Time") by Giant Hedgehog :
