But these are non-denominational little glass baubles, and I can absolutely guarantee at least one drag queen is going to be wearing these as earrings in the next several weeks.

Having bought a couple of t-shirts at Before The Dawn, a British large is an American medium.

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!!!! My BTD t-shirts sit on my shelf, waiting for me to lose 20 pounds...so they are officially souvenirs only. At least they still look new

I'm just happy the new shirts for sale actually have her name on them! While I'm always happy to explain, the BTD shirts either prompt questions or leave people perplexed altogether.

As I said, I certainly don't mind explaining/educating but will also be very very happy to have Kate's name across the back of several shirts (and a hoodie) before long. I'm in music-related t-shirts almost every single day so I'm thrilled that I'll be able to display my fondness for Kate in a more forthright manner. My BTD shirts are actually a little too large for me so they can often hang in a way that you can't even read the type on them very well.

I know you all were dying to know this!

One would think, judging solely by their t-shirts, that Britain didn't have beer or Italy pasta.

I could display my fondness for Kate in a more forthright manner, alas...but for distance, security guards and restraining orders.

    (I'm kidding!)

Do you mind if I ask what shade of lippy you are going for with that?

Trust me, I'd make an extraordinarily unappealing drag queen. But I have no doubt I could spot a pair or two of these in the next Chicago Pride.

    Babs BushScar
    Dawn B. Four
    Hairy Elle

    Etc etc....

Over the last twenty years or so, Kate has entered the "Gay Icon" pantheon. Rufus Wainwright was asked about her by The Guardian in 2006 and said: “She is the older sister that every gay man wants. She connects so well with a gay audience because she is so removed from the real world. She is one of the only artists who makes it appear better to be on the outside than on the inside.”

Oh, I'm fully aware as she's an icon to many gay women as well...

    We all love our Kate!
