This makes zero sense because the condition of an lp is definitely connected to the sound quality. It's the reason why NM copies fetch top dollar.

Maybe we should stop this. It's off topic anyway.

Lana, if nothing else, certainly is prolific. Now if we could only get her
    out on the road....

The first single is available in Dolby Atmos on Apple Music and Tidal for those who care. Sounds pretty good on first listen. Go Lana!

fmfxray373 Capitol LPs in the 70s were pretty good.

I have the UK white vinyl of The Beatles. It isn't noisy at all.

That doesn't make sense. Decades from now we will be glad we got as much music as we did from Lana (or any other artist). Artists have to strike when the muse is hot.

It will be interesting to observe when she does tour again with 3 or 4 albums’ worth of newer material, whether half the setlist will still be Born to Die songs.

Abso-fricking-lutely. There'll come a time when we are missing this prolific era. Since when have fans started to complain about too much of anything, if the quality is still there?

Are you too happy today? Is this too much goodness? Should I dial it back a bit?

    Nah, we're good.

Yeah, goddamn these artists, and their so-called "songs" or "rekkids". I remember the old days, before they existed, when there was nothing.

Agreed. If the creative juices are flowing and you want to write, it is best to go with it, as the inspiration may not always be there.

Yes I know what you were referring to and as a “chap” I can’t help but object to someone suggesting they know the “real” reason that others are buying this exclusive pressing. You only know why you’re not buying it.

As a "chap", bra connoisseur and astute financial investor, I'd argue that 40 quid for a 12x12 picture of a lady in her modestly elegant brassiere is likely a pretty poor return for your coin compared to what you could get on that there internet - or even in specialist literature - if that's your thang.

I've never seen a problem with an artist being prolific. For example David Bowie released twelve albums between 1970 to 1980 as well as working on The Idiot and Lust For Life with Iggy Pop and I'm sure most people weren't asking him to slow down.

Agree - strike while the irons hot - overthinking albums for 4 years at a time does not always work well imo

Also I would always rather an artist release too much and allow fans/people to pick and listen to their favorites, than put out an album every 3-5 years and have a situation like Springsteen’s catalogue, or even Dylan’s, where you have great song after great dong languishing in a vault for decades.

The lyric "Harry Nilsson has a song, his voice breaks at 2:05" is referring to "Don't Forget Me" from his "P u s s y Cats" album.

She's got a lot of great unreleased stuff in the vault anyway, unreleased songs, alternate versions, demos and more or less completed unreleased albums. My playlist of her best unreleased leaked songs has 130ish songs on it.

I'll take what she wants to release now and keep my finger crossed for a couple of vault boxsets in a couple of decades. :righton:

    Facts (and/or rumours)…
Several songs are over 6 minutes and structurally unconventional, two are shorter interludes (one including a priest). Album length around 80 minutes. All songs recorded late 2021 to early 2022.

Kind of amusing story about the ONE billboard promoting this new one:
Lana Del Rey Posts Billboard in Ex’s Hometown Promoting Upcoming Album – Billboard

Yes, releasing a full new LP every single year was the norm for successful pop and rock artists through the 60s and 70s and it did great for most fans. It finally sunk into me with last night's shuffle listen: NFR is not just "one of my favorite newer lps" for this old dude who doesn't fall in love with many new LPs: it is for sure in my top 40 lps of all time and tbh it might just be old man superego not admitting it's top 10. I do think the ones since then have been not quite as good---not as purely crafted and bright, a certain choice to be hazier and darker overtook her and not every lyric hits home for me as intensely---but she is an All-Time Great and we should all want moremoremore.

I didn't know there was a tunnel under ocean boulevard, but I thank Lana for being both informative as well as entertaining.
