Neil Young - Archives Vol 2 deluxe cd set. I missed the limited black font orginal set due to debating if I actually wanted the set. As we know they pressed a later edition with the red font on the outer box, I bought this one.
Box is in bad shape. Disc play perfectly is compressed all to hell. It didn't have anything new so I never bought it new.

Actually a birthday present. Does that count? His 1970 Nashville recordings stripped of the ghastly strings and choral overdubs. I wish MCA would do the same for their Ray Charles recordings.
I have found that OCD is a good thing with music because a lot of times you may learn at a later time : 1 - A new or better mix was done on a previous or later edition. 2 - A longer / shorter version of a song was mistakenly used on a previous or later edition. 3 - Variations of bonus tracks may happen 4 - A better mastering was done on a previous or later edition. I am that way with ABBA releases & it doesn't bother me a bit!
Found a very clean copy of the Allman Brothers "Dreams" 4 CD set shoved in with the old Andy Williams LPs in a thrift shop last year...
Dylan's Mono Box (vinyl), and Neil's Archives Vol. II (CD) have arrived. Jack Hardy's Collection Box (CD) and the Harry Smith Anthology of Folk Music (CD) are on the way. Guess I've been doing some boxing lately.
Georgia Satellites - Ultimate. Three CDs, self-titled first (proper) album (8 extra tracks), Open All Night (6 extra tracks) and In The Land Of Salvation And Sin (5 extra tracks). Excellent value at about £17 including postage from the UK-based www.jcplmusic.com. I'd never heard of them before but they seem to be a small, one-stop shop for classic rock/metal and Americana-type music, selling music, merch and tickets and being a booking agency for a number of bands/artists in that vein. Terrible name though... Jerkin' Crocus Promotions Ltd.
I didn’t buy a box set, but a friend gave me the now out of print 25 Years The Chain boxset that Fleetwood Mac put out in 1992 for their 25th anniversary as a group. It belonged to her recently deceased brother. Listening to it now, I do like the alternate mix of Lay It All Down, Love That Burns and the previously unreleased Danny Kirwan ballad Trinity.
