Last Man Standing (Tim Allen) Resurrected At Fox For 2018-2019 (Season 7)

Well, she seems to be a party pooper (the only one who chose not to return).

I actually prefer Fuller to the original oldest daughter. She was alright I guess, just something about her...hard to put a finger on.

Ephraim's character I don't think was written all that well (shallow, selfish, slutty slacker to all of a sudden a fashion business mogul with a strong work ethic who at the same time discovers true, selfless love...all at what, age 20...yeah, right).

In truth, pretty much all these characters are replaceable. Still somehow a show that I liked to watch, though I don't find repeated viewings all that rewarding. Guess it's good for some laughs but it's just a little short on depth.

 

Bigger rack?

 

The first episode of the new season debuted on Twitter, and it's as if it never ended, with a few big exceptions. And as I predicted they addressed the new Mandy pretty blatantly (who is taller, blonder, but just as stupid), as well as the show switching to Fox (Allen even winked at the audience). Very meta, not very original, but it seems as though this show could run several more seasons in that eternal Friday timeslot.

 

Tim has stated that was his intention, to create something similar to All in the Family. I think both sides get lampooned equally on the show, and it's funny most of the time.

 

Wasn't thinking of that. Maybe subconsciously though.

The new Boyd looks similar to the old Boyd.

But the new Mandy looks nothing like the old one.

I watched it last night on Hulu. Not as good as previous shows, but I think it will take a few episodes to get back where it was.

I liked the point of the show: Even though we may disagree, we are still one nation and we need to act like it.

I thought that Héctor Elizondo is starting to look feeble. Maybe he was having an off night. I really like him.

Overall, glad it's back. Look forward to more Archie/Meathead discussions.

 

LOVE Last Man Standing, glad to see it doing what it always did. Great ratings! Hopefully they get another 6 seasons on Fox!

 

I thought the rhythm was a bit off; which is understandable after a year away and the addition of a new actress playing Mandy. Should get back in the groove in subsequent episodes.

I was a little surprised to see who got killed off in tonight’s episode. Just today I was telling someone I looked forward to this character’s return...

 

Very serious tone throughout too, wasn’t expecting that. “Life doesn’t wait around does it?” Touching, great episode
