I didn't think much of it either

Of course I should have known better than to rent anything with Nicholas Cage, IMHO the dullest actor out there (or would that be Keanu.....?)

Watched Juno last night, i thought it was great ''maybe because my expectations were low'' but i think Roger Ebert was right for once, i still haven't forgiven him for giving zero stars to ''the original'' The Hitcher however.

I've seen it. A friend of mine loves this movie so I rented it. Pretty good flick.

I've always liked Roger Ebert because unlike other critics, Roger reviews movies by what & how they are & not by what he thinks they should have done when they made it. That said, I also feel that all critics are just ordinary people with opinions that get published or broadcasted. There is no wrong or right when you like or dislike a movie because it all comes down to personal choice. I'm now going to sit down & watch "Pollyanna" with Hayley Mills (who's movies I like a lot!).

Watched 'Moon over Parador'. Good latin music by Marice Jarre.

Also finished to see the anime series 'Elfen Lied'. Has a lot of flaw but I really like it.

North by Northwest - I forgot how fun this movie is...

Revenge of Frankenstein - I fell asleep before it ended! It was a long day.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) - more creepy than I remembered

Three years late to the party, I finally got around to seeing "Zodiac" (on BD). I was impressed.

I will never hear Hurdy Gurdy Man the same way again.

Great movie, which I've seen only on DVD and cable HD. Sure wish I had seen it on a bigger screen.

One of my all time favorites.

One of the few movies I can watch over and over, probably once a year at least.

I just finished watching "Bluegrass - Country Soul" for the first time. I picked up the DVD yesterday and popped it in when I got home. The first music DVD that has kept me riveted to the screen in quite some time. It is a film that was ever-so-briefly released back in 1972 chronicling the 1971 Bluegrass Festival in Camp Springs, North Carolina.

Amazing line-up of acts, and a real slice of history.:thumbsup:

  16. Actually "Red Rocks West" is one of my favorite movies. Too bad John Dahl's career never took off the way i had hoped.

I'm ready to go to disc 3 of the Torchwood season 2 set. I also watched several episode of The Universe season 1 BD set. Funny thing, two episodes were about planet Earth and they never mentioned the rift through London...

Doesn't it? They could have done a better job wrapping it up. Such a waste.

I just finished "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead". Didn't like it. Grim. Slow. Too much "Quentin Tarentino time asynchronicity" but not as well executed. Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke did a great job I thought.

It's too bad the film wasn't a hit, it certainly deserved to be, why a film like this one would fly under the radar i'll never know, not for lack of a good cast either ''Nicolas Cage, Dennis Hopper, Sara Flynn Boyle, Dwight Yoakum, J.T.Walsh''

    Recently watched:

Strangers on a Train (better than I remembered)
Phantasm (remembered the previews but the movie was a letdown)
Jurassic Park I, II, and III (the first one is great, the others less so)
In the Line of Fire (Clint Eastwood & John Malkovich - pretty good)
A Hard Days Night (I'm still seeing things in this I hadn't noticed before)

My mom and nephew came over for the Director's cut of Amadeus. They liked it but they were gettin' squirm-y at the end.... the film really didn't need to be made any longer, IMO. I was gettin' squirm-y too.

Watched Fellini's ''La Dolce Vita'' it definitely left an impression on me even though it's a bit long at three hours, great performance by Mastroeni, nice soundtrack.

Followed that up last night with Black Narcissus, great film.:righton:
