ever see Anthony Hopkins TV version? he was great...
love it...they could not have done it better...BD is fabulous.
No....I like the original, with sound, version so very much. The only thing that could of made it much better is if they'd of given Claude Rains a part in it. Who knows, maybe I'll see the Hopkins one someday. I just have no great need to.
I got an Amazon care package in the post yesterday.....Phantom Thread and Cheech and Chong's Up In Smoke.
The Contender on DVD, only the second time I have seen it liked it better the second time around.
that's cool...I get ya..
did you check out up in smoke yet? if so... how does it look, man...: )
Not yet....I went fishing yesterday and I'm tired. I may watch Up In Smoke tomorrow morning. I'd never stay awake through it this evening.
did you catch any?
The Naked Gun Trilogy
I caught a half-dozen Lake Trout and a large Walleye. Walleyes is tonight's dinner and it's trout tomorrow.
cool...nice! enjoy. : )
I finally got some Michoacan..... .....so, I was able to watch Up In Smoke last night. It surprised me how good it looked after watching the grubby DVD over the years. It looked really clean and detailed. I was watching some of the extras and it was revealed that Robert Altman's crew shot the film.
I forgot to ask what label? thanks...
Wonder Woman nice transfer and a great comic film.
Can't wait for 4k plus audio improvement to 2001 and Midnight Cowboy.
Not to start but being 50th year for original "Planet of the Apes" also you would think that maybe 20th Fox would finely redo transfers and get a 4k of the Apes series out there. Heard that "Beneath " and "Escape" had new 4k transfers (rumour s) and was told that "Planet" 1968 could be done since a new 2k was done about 5 years ago.
Before Fox leaves us it would be nice to have a "Best we're going to get for ever" transfer of the original series of Apes films. I've heard that some new audio elements were found (when I hear it) and maybe the original prologue in "Conquest" can be found, it was filmed but was cut for violence and, believe it or not, to keep the film under 90 minutes.
The original riot scenes were intact but from what I remember the new "original cut" on blu ray now is really the 1972 version sent to Japan after the cuts and alterations of "Conquest" for violence and content for North American audiences.
I got this off my chest because on an "Apes" forum I use to frequent you were not allowed to get intense or political. Apes site, political, what else if not political were the Apes films.
I know Fox would never let any one else like a Criterion touch their films but another company with real love for the series and respect is what's needed fast. I feel the selling to Disney might spell the end of these and other great Fox films.
take care, John M.
Lucky starring Harry Dean Stanton. One of his last roles. Nice movie about getting old. David Lynch is even in it.
Paramount.....I'm getting a second copy, a deluxe edition with a soundtrack LP & CD and a 7" single picture disc and some other stuff.
Watched Tears of the Sun on DVD last night
In today from Amazonia, The Post UHD-BD.
That deee-luxe edition comes out Fryday.....
you are a maniac! Love it...fellow collector. : )
Are folks just buying the 4K UHD for the Blu Ray disc?
