one of his best!
Watched Midnight Run for the first time in maybe 15 plus years. I had a DVD of the movie from the 1990's that wouldn't scale correctly on my current system (maybe 40% of screen). I had avoided the blu-ray because there's a "3" on the side which to me implies Region 3 which won't play on my system. I'm happy I bit. That's an entertaining two hours. Funny movie. Great characters. The digit transfer while clean, still shows a grainy picture (I could have seen the same on the DVD or VHS). Universal either doesn't care about cleaning up the movie or it all went up in smoke.
1917 (Blu-Ray) 2019
It was a comedy double feature for me last night, both on BD. It started with The Kentucky Fried Movie and then Airplane II The Sequel.
I Wanna Hold Your Hand (Criterion DVD)
The Great Escape 1963 (Criterion) Blu-Ray
re-watch it with commentary track!
Last night I watched The Blues Brothers on UHD-BD and it looked and sounded really good. I watched the extended version that's not really extended much, a scant few minutes. I just finished Cheech & Chong is Things Are Tough All Over on DVD.
The Great Escape
The Invisible Man (2020)
Lucky you! You got Jaws early....
Busted Buy ain’t broke—they mailed it and I was surprised to get it 0n Saturday. It’s rare but I do occasionally find that Best Buy will ship so you get it before Release day.
Coming on Tuesday
The Deer Hunter 4K
Escape From L.A. Blu
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 Blu
Dying to get the Scream Factory Blu-ray of Escape From LA to replace my non-anamorphic DVD -- but I didn't want to pay what they were asking for it upon release.
Read about this 4K release, but didn't think this would be a title that would really benefit from the 4K treatment; as it is, I'm still rockin' my DTS Collector's Edition DVD...
Let us know how this looks when you view it.
Absolutely at the top of his game here, agreed, along with Fire Down Below, Under Siege and Marked for Death.
Indeed... all great!
The Good the Bad and the Ugly.
Touch Of Evil Reconstructed Welles Cut with Charlton Heston and Janet Leigh commentary. Good stuff, but even Heston and Leigh were impressed with some of the behind the scenes information that reconstruction producer Rick Schmidlin had. This is a great set with 3 versions of the film, commentaries and a couple interview pieces with some of the actors.
Rats now it’s Thursday.
Also—The Invisible Man 4k
